It's in almost the exact same spot. Have is as something of a small native holdout, a kind of reservation/preserve to allow the Natives to continue living as they choose.

Maybe there is, but the majority of the height is underwater.

I was the one who put the Aqaba-Gaza channel where it is, it can be deleted and we could have a Suez channel or strait instead.

The map we have shows it still there - or something similar to it (a larger Gulf of Aqabah?) I'm not sure what the purpose or extent is, but it makes things more complicated than they should be.

Is Bahrain still independent?

I also find it odd that France controls the entire Sinai peninsula - is this intended, or is it just a visual thing?

Sorry.  Can't do anything about the Sinai region without making it look funnier than it already is.  The waterways are wider but the landmasses seem to be the same size, independent of each other.  The Canal is still in place, as is all joining landmasses.

France holding all of Sinai seems to be like a buffer zone to keep the Ottoman and Egypt apart.  It is left over from the straits time, but do you really need the desert between Ancient Egypt and the Holy Lands?

Attempts at closing the Sinai region and Middle East back to about normal results in these two maps.

One with things more or less as they were: (just a French Canal)


And one with a fully Frrench Sinai.


I'm not sure it these are worth the effort in exchange for the difference from the previous 1906 map.
