QuoteThe ABG4100 is only 1/4 larger than the ABG3000, but has 50% more firepower, and armor.
I would think it would be worth having fewer hulls with that better capacity.

Small cruisers 3000t,(CAGB) could n't be classed with 6000t & 8000t cruisers .
They are renamed "Frigate" => F

Looks similar to my 'Burning Bow'. I think you saved some tonnage.

Technically, under the Aviation ship rules you are not allowed to adjust the freeboard lengths.
"Use the default "Length % of Lwl" setting."
But with 17.5 , 32.5, 32.5 and 17.5 you are not actually changing the citadel(hanger) / bow & stern %, just making them even breaks.
So I do not think that is a problem.

The ship can not have a lowered quarter deck.  You can have a lowered forecastle.
"This represents the Flight Deck and applies from "Quarter deck Freeboard-aft" to "Fore deck Freeboard-forward".

This may be extended to cover the forecastle OR the forecastle may be left 5m (15ft) lower and serve as a "flying off deck", increasing take off rate."

The TDS is 24m wide, the hull 30m, which only gives a 3m interior space.
I do not know what the 'correct' number would be, my impression is more is better.

The Byzantine CVs are a mix of the British CVs (Ark Royal, Victorious, Implacable) with a clear profile at the ends like the Japanese CVs (Akagi, Junyo...) with beams and posts to support the flight deck.

I love Akagi look.

When you start a fresh SS,
-switch to the 'freeboard' tab
-hit "flush deck " or "mid break" on upper right.
The program will provide the defaults.
QuoteFreeboard (% = length of deck as a percentage of waterline length):
            Fore end,    Aft end
      - Forecastle:   20.00 %,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m
      - Forward deck:   30.00 %,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m
      - Aft deck:   35.00 %,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m
      - Quarter deck:   15.00 %,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m,  0.00 ft / 0.00 m
      - Average freeboard:      0.00 ft / 0.00 m

The freeboard and the Length % of Lwl specifications were meant to ensure we are all modeling under the same rules. All of our hanger sizes w

The actual "look" of the carrier can be somewhat different.

For example, the Flight Deck Cruiser rules  are either Quarterdeck + Aft OR Forecastle +Fore.
Aft + Fore is not an option.
That makes it sound like all your guns have to be foredeck or aft deck.
However you can specify some of the guns are fore and other aft.
Why?
Because the gun tab does not allow you to place guns on the forecastle or stern if you did Aft+Fore.
So the SS has to have that space available without the +hanger freeboard, or else SS would put all that weight high up
in the ship.

There's a great number of compromises when using a nice simple bit of free software for fairly complex structures.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,

The forecastle can be 16% rather than 20% as you have the option of extending the flight deck over the forecastle.
"This may be extended to cover the forecastle OR the forecastle may be left 5m (15ft) lower and serve as a "flying off deck", increasing take off rate.", and you are moving that 4% to the citadel , leaving the 34.5 / 34.5 break instead of the 30/35% break.

The 12m flight deck is standard for a double hanger design.
Since the forecastle is 7.44m-9.09m, not (12-5) = 7m, it is not a flying off deck.

The quarterdeck must be the same as the flight deck, 12m in this case.
The 5.78m high quarter deck is not allowable.
