Hmmmm.......  I miscalculated.

While that was 'Month 5' of the War,
the war didn't start until the 2nd month of the year

making you correct that this was the end of the 6th month of the year

so it IS time for HY 1 1923 turns to "produce" something

and folks to do their HY 2 1923

Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Me:  Stays of the war.

Also me:  Has massive humanitarian crisis because of the war.

Only if you feed and clothe them.
You could make a different sort of crisis out of it.
I'd make sure they hadn't stashed arms anywhere first though.

I can't have them all running around without clothes.  High society would be scandalized.

I dunno, they should have high levels of physical fitness,
perhaps a calendar shoot of "Aztec warriors" followed by a tourism opportunity...
turn that into something salacious.

To clarify, since this was 'turn weekend'
.., and clarification of some important points

month 6 will be next weekend.

Actually, they're experienced soldiers who made it across with most of their kit, and I believe that the Union has a need for protection of its Panamanian Colony.  The following would undoubtedly be very much allowed by the Sultan and their commanding officer, Commodore Acalan:

1)  Standing them up in defense of the Wilno Colony
2)  Standing up working parties to assist the union in preparing fortifications to defend the colony
3)  Repatriation
His Most Honorable Majesty,  Ali the 8th, Sultan of All Aztecs,  Eagle of the Sun, Jaguar of the Sun, Snake of the Sun, Seal of the Sun, Whale of the Sun, Defender of the Faith, Keeper of the Teachings of Allah most gracious and merciful.

Japan has a hospital ship nearby, so I can definitely start picking up the most severely wounded.

Union cartographers are going to be busy changing all the maps, it seems.

Technically the war may not be over,
but when folks stop sending in orders, I tend to think it is.
Probably a call for a truce is needed and a place for talks.

Parthia's protection of San Diego and refueling Japanese warfleets
marks her as not neutral, shame since Jamaica is right there.

Byzantine, the Norse and Iberia are also possibilities.
The latter two are NPCs right now.

Month 6 is done and posted.
If you and Fox wish to proceed to Month 7, I can roll intelligence and weather.

If RL is in the way, please let us know, I can delay the turns.

Yeah RL slowing me down. I blame Tac for introducing me to Kriegspiel. I'll get orders in, conditional on the Aztecs continuing the war, since I can no longer continue alone.

Enemy fleets are too numerous and too powerful.
Pacific and Caribbean Mayan fleets remain in port to avoid total destruction.
