Well, if my spreadsheet is correct, I've used the 240BP allocated to the Italians. Most of which will be in reserve until the economy improves a couple years into the sim.
Had some issues when I realized misc weight for troops did count against cost, good thing I reread that part.

So, corrected St. Bon, just changed the turrets to twin, and reduced the construction reserve.
Deleted a couple ships from my projected OOB to free up tonnage for a transport, a tender/collier, a fleet tug/tender/collier (rescue vessel), some harbor tug/net tenders and a small hospital ship. 

So first the repost of St. Bon, who has kinda wound up a slower, better armored Swiftsure, rather than a modest one-up on Wien

Then a troop transport.
Considering the length of coastline, and the various islands, having a dedicated troop transport- in addition to the expensive to run Italia class, seems like a good idea. I'd love a dozen, but there's this budget thing, and I really don't want to scrap a battleship.

Went back and made a master list from the final ships, wound up dropping the Ram to fit the Partenope class and another tug.

So, getting my fleet posted up etc.

Noted that the Regina Margherita had the same single gun mount issue as the St. Bons. In their case I just raised the displacement to compensate as they aren't fully built yet.

Decided I really disliked the Castore design relative to the Umbria design, so dropped 1/2 knot and changed the armanent & armor.

After assembling my Army weaponry realized how silly it would be for the Navy to use 11.4mm Gardners while the Army used 10.4mm Gardners. Granted, similar things have happened, but I just went through my Sims and manually edited the 11.4mm to 10.4mm. I'm pretty darn sure it doesn't effect the light tonnage of anything to loose that 1 mm on those MGs.

Just noted that the Regina Margherita had all 2x 2t12" all superimposed. "Fixing" that saved a ton of comp hull, allowing me to re-add the construction reserve and still winding up at the 15,200 light they were before the first fix. 
This won't be reflected in the draft budget, but will in the final.

edit : Started checking other sims, found St. Bon had the same isse as Regina, un-superimposed the main battery, raised the speed to suck up the comp hull, same light weight.

So this should be the final post in the pre-1900 ships....but I thought that of the last.

So the saga :

Originally, I was going to have 3 Garibaldis  and 2 Reginas building at 1900, with the Garibaldis completing 1901-1902, and the Regina Margeritas 1903ish.  A little slow, but I can only use 4.5 of my 8BP right now due to budget issues, I won't get to all 8BP utilized until 1903.

Then the nice bonus of a 1900 tech fell in my lap. Previously, I couldn't have planned on KC until 1902-3, and I was going to work on Army Reserves.....but here I took it with the stated purpose of being able to complete the ships building with KC....neglecting that consideration that here one should have the tech by laydown.

Retrofitting them in the ways is expensive, as it involves over 17BP of armor and $2.4 on ships where only 12BP has been committed to building them. That's two Garibaldis in reconstruction and would kick my completions back 1.5 years to 1903 & 1905 or so.

So, in 1898 when they "started research" in KC... and so knew that soonish (in 1900-1901) they'd have a new armor to put on new construction...I will just build Garibaldis, which can finish up by 1900. I won't have them start the Regina Margeritas, I'll do that in 1900, and they should still complete in 1903 as I can put most of my BP into them.

So that gives me 12BP in pre-1900 construction to reallocate.
You *can( spend up to 20% of your "start" BP in infrastructure, and I had a floating T2 dock that was under construction at Taranto, for 5.5BP.
Removing the 5 ships and floating dock leaves a total of ~214.4860BP expended....or 25.51 to go.

So, I've tweaked the Garibaldis by 500 tons, raising displacement to 9000light, with 300 unused, so $8.7/8.7BP.
That dispenses with the minedeck which apparently was a bit early, and provides more armor, albeit "compound".  The irony is I was happy with their armor before I got the armor tech, but once the mental picture became one that "lessening" the armor by reverting to "compound" I really felt the need to compensate- funny.

So I will just make the Garibaldis a class of 4x 8700, under construction in 1900, but 6,000 tons committed each and near completion, which will drop that floating dock to 1.514BP, which is fine, I'm mainly building it because they did historically, not because I really want to invest BPs there.

For the Reginas, I'll just edit the encyclopedia entry to read laid down 1900....
