Quote...but if the ship ever has to fight against torpedo boats, the lack of tubes might become a problem

That's not wrong...
8x100 is the strictly minimum for a 7000t cruiser.
12 or 16 are better.

On the BB5s, myself, I'd want taller main belts.  Right now, you have 1.2m of coverage above and below the waterline, which is rather minimal.  Interesting design choice to go with only a good seaboat rating, when most BBs are going for excellent, certainly saves some tonnage.  Turret side armor is fairly weak on both the mains and secondaries, as is the armor over the steering gear.  I'm surprised the main deck 100mm guns aren't in casemates, that would protect their crews from blast effects from the secondaries.

On the Clovis: to be small but still fairly quick, she had to give up something, and that something is seakeeping, with only average seakeeping.  I don't know that you have room for both the 140mms and the deck-mount 100mms on the main deck, something may have to move.

CP7 - quite good seakeeping, but because of it, she's not particularly well armed or armored.  Could be a good raider, though.

TBM01 - Good speed, reasonable for the date range, big guns for a TBD but only 2 of them, only 2 torpedo tubes as well.

I have reSS the BB5 with new armor & new secondaries .
I like particulary the losange disposition of the 4 turrets.
Casemates for 100mm are placed on the 140mm casemates.

The look IS good, I'll say that.  The increase in armored area is pretty marginal, though, since it only added 10cm of height to the belt, at a cost of 20mm of thickness.  Kind of the penalty that's paid for a relatively small BB, though.

Hope to BB5 class to disable quickly a 12" turret on her opposite in the enemy line...

I think this ship is too broad-beamed to use centerline torps, at least ones that are less than 5m long.

Why are you using different caliber guns when the ship has so few weapons anyways? It would simplify logistics to simply choose one weapon type for the ship, that way you can more easily move around gun crews and ammunition as the battle progresses.

In 1900, much navies use small caliber QF guns vs TBs. Because TBs were small & torpedoes had short range.
Note that I use 65QF in little quantity.

Aviso Torpilleur are colonial ships.
Have 10rof QF guns could be useful for coastal & harbor work too.
