I lived in Pensacola for a couple years, so we got out to the batteries there.


Here's a possible future coast defence howitzer: longer-ranged than the older coast defense mortars, and more likely to land on the target's deck than a high-velocity gun.  Based on the US M1920 16" coast defence howitzer.

KWorld

Found an even earlier 14" gun (however, they're coast guns, not naval guns): the US M1907M1, M1909M1, and M1910 and M1910M1.  There's also the M1895 16", but from other sources only 1 (other sources say 8 ) of those was built.
