These two armoured cruisers are the current showcases of the Ottoman Navy. They are nearly as large as the Torgud Reis battleships they were designed to escort and are the first to carry the new 250mm gun. The design has been criticized, however, for having unwieldly secondaries, with the 150mm weapons awkwardly arranged and with a long reload time. This is perhaps why recent capital ships have downgraded to the 105mm weapon.
