I decided that it was time to refresh my design with newer engines and more misc. weight. I also gave them pom-poms.
Nothing exciting - two will be laid down each year starting 1918.

What makes a ship a minesweeper? Misc weight? If yes how much is necessary?

And it seems you made the same mistake as me with my latest study: to change the engine year - or have you already finished the last engine tech?

Ahoj!
Yes, declaring miscelenous weight for minesweeping equipment makes a ship a minesweeper. How much it should weight - nobody really knows :), we guestimated it.


As to engine year - the year limits are on turbines. I give my minesweepers Verticle Triple Expansion Engines, not turbines.

Corrected the design with proper engine year - 3 tonnes difference ...

As to "how much misc. weight makes a ship a minesweeper" - this is a N-verse copy of this ship, so I hope that it can carry the necessary equipment:
