Just a tiny remark, the ESC doesn't support the 100mm AA tech, 40mm at best.

It's even worse, 100mm AA ain't developable yet, nor is there any reason for it.

TexanCowboy

Dang, that is going to take 4 years to construct. Just a comment, why does it have two F.C's. Thats a bit excessive.

maddox

2 fire control suites, redundancy is a good reason.

TexanCowboy

Oh. Still, 4 years to construct? Even the French Great Battleships aren't that big.

maddox

Masque is half as big again, and will take up to 6 years to build.

TexanCowboy

Your actually building a Tillman battleship? :o. Please tell me I never go to war with France.

maddox

As you can see in my HY reports, Officialy Masque is being build in the covered type 4 dock in Brest.

I still think the calibre guideline should be removed from the tech description as it makes no sense whatsoever. Apart from the fact that the first real world AA guns were in the 5-7,5cm range there is the fact that modifying a naval gun for high-angle fire is the work of a couple of days for a good gun factory at most. The tech is IMO not about the guns as such; it is about the ability to hit things flying around. I think of the guns in an AA system as the wheels of car, necessary for it to function, but in themselves the simplest part of the package. :)

   More hefty bruisers ...

Is the armour scheme optimised for long range - deck is thick - and turret faces less than belt, which is unusual

Also - what calibre are the 405mm?

Guinness

If we want to talk AA tech, and I think we should, let's unearth this thread:

405 mm gun is a 16" gun or a little below since the Esc have the metric system ,but 16" is 406,4 mm the Esc have instead employed a 405 mm gun

mentat

sorry - my query on the guns is - barrel length - how many calibres long - 45 or??

- and the armour scheme?
