The Ottoman Empire is looking to build two large light cruisers in 1917.

Design Details

Max of 7,250 tons light displacement
To fit into a type 2 slipway
1916 oil fired engines
Use 150mm guns in twin mounts
At least 30 knots

maddox

France can offer that in a pinch.

A sleightly redesigned Demarce IV will do.  But France will have to buy the 150mm guns.
Oor else substitute those for the 140 or 165mm guns.

Korpen

Just the get a clarification, are the Ottomans looking for a design to build themself, or do they want someone to build the ships for them?

The Ottomans will be building these themselves.  I have gotten better designs for the Ottomans when I farm them out instead of comming up with my own.  The design details are based upon their tech and economy (they have 7.25 BP a half of income).

What I thought then.
I do not have Springshrap close at hand atm, but would offer an older design as a starting point to see if the concept is interesting: Javalove http://www.navalism.org/index.php?topic=2234.msg24712#msg24712
With more modern engines there is room for improvements if any area desired.

Korpen that design is roughly what I am looking for.  I would like 4 turrets on the center line and perhaps single 150's on the wings.   Like that one large numbers of mines is also a plus.  Over all use the displacement (about 1,000 tons heavier 6,100 vs. 7,250) to get extra speed.

Desertfox

I'll try to get something up once I get back home. In the meantime NS will soon be fielding a design very similar to the WW Columbias:

Roughly what I am looking for foxy roughly

But can Fox's Olympia be done w/ 1916 engines as apposed to the 1925 ones used to sim it?

The Romanian can offer this ridiculously underweight design.  :D

So, updated in size and year.
Priority have been put on range on payload rather then armour or firepower.
In most scenarios the Ottoman navy will be outnumbered and outgunned no matter what, so I think it is better to try and play to other strengths. The ship is an excellent offensive minelayer, and her large bunkers allow her to maintain a high-speed mission profile in such operations, as well as allowing her to conduct raiding. If not used for mines the mine hangars can be used to carry supplies (for example across a blockade) for the army, or equipment and supplies for torpedo boats. In the later case her large bunkerage could also allow her to function a bit like a tender/supply ship for them for a period, as well as a leader in combat.
On top of this she is a pretty good light cruiser.

Gun layout is like "Sweet love", but with with one gun in front of the rear mast at deck level. the other gun is in the side gun position, but on the centerline at deck level.
