Paris, right after the parliamental meeting.

Premier Galpoux's offices.

I can't believe it, I can't believe it, the senators gave me a forth option, and forced that down the ministers troaths.
Denise, we'll have to send a courrier to the warzone of Phoenix, to get a "definite answer of the status of Ambassador Aretas Akers-Douglas".

I want following things to happen.

  • Grange will have to provide extra bodyguards, subtile ones, to Aretas.
  • A meeting between me and ambassador Aretas will have to happen as soon as it can be arranged without the press to breath in our necks, or the senators officialy knowing.
  • Find out what is the most luxurious, but slowest way to travel to Phoenix. And send Deputy secretary aid Gaston Lagaffe as courrier.

As you wish Premier Galpoux. Any more immediate demands of my capacities?

Now you mention it, there is considerable energy from anger I need to release. I think we can work on that before you send out the messages and orders.

Admiral Quarters Occitanie, Brest.

Admiral Geon. I hope you have a satisfying answer to the Needs Of France and her Allies.

Yes I do, Premier Galpoux. I'm dispatching the First Scouting Squadron to aid our allies in their quest, and to avenge the insult to France.
As we speak, Napoleon and her escorts leave the port, if you join me, you can see them leave their berths.
What reminds me, can you ask Minister Capet, if he finds time even when on his personal quest, to tell Iberia these sleek, fast ships will cross the Strait of Gibraltar in 60 hours.

And like that, Romania's 18-year old princess causes a potential war.

The Rock Doctor

Not quite seeing what Romania has to do with this...

maddox

Me neither  ;) , but I like the comment.

I believe his intent was to say the Minster Capet's "Project", the wooing of Empress Flowrains, may be distracting him and that forgetting to tell the Iberian's that a large group of French ships are heading towards Gibraltar unannounced could be an issue.

June 1919, Paris, hotel Napoleon, big conference hall.

Jean Jacques (a Departement of Industry flunky) is speaking to a crowd of journalists.

Messieurs, I have the honor to tell you that Glorious France is sponsoring the Chantiers de St Nazaire to build a replacement of Le Magnificent. The orders for the structural steel are placed at several foundries. The engines, the most powerfull in the world and this time build in France, not in the Norman Kingdom.

Er, I honestly doubt that an 50m wide ship would fit even the slipway.

It won't fit the Grand Canal....

And it's only the largest ship in the world until a 'accidental' Romanian style explosion occurs.  :D

Nonetheless, the freeboard should be about a 1/3 to a 1/2 of the beam on a liner. That means it should be increased.

Actually, I think it has to fit in the type 5 drydock at Marseille, nothing else in the French Infrastructure is long enough to build it.
