OOC There are oil fields in NS territory, plus the only place where oil is used is for in NS is for warships and I dont have very many oil fired ones yet. The reserves at wartime usage rates should last from 1 1/2 to 2 years.

After a break in the conference when the old Spanish Don and the New Swiss Diplomat walked off to talk for a few minutes alone, the Ambassador addresses the assembly when he returns.  "New Switzerland has agreed to yield its interests in the Canal Project to Ibiera and with the provisional agreement of the Siam envoy to Rohan would appear to resolve the point on the draft treaty.  The Netherlands has also expressed its own interest in taking over the canal and has pressed hardest for Swiss removal, does the Netherlands Representative agree or object to this solution?"

There. Is. Not. A. Single. Known. Oilfield. In. Swiss. Owned. Territories.

Repeating it hundred times won't change the situation.

Evidence to the contrary on its way...

The Count fought back the urge to perform a "Golpe de Zindane" on the Swiss and turned his back.

The next morning the Habsburg representative left the conference to hunt pumas in the mountains outside Mithlond. To "sooth his nerves" was the official explanation.

"I might remind the deligates that it is common place to arrange a cease fire in these situations first.  Functional peace treaties have been known to take years to write up and enact.  While I would hope the parties involved may think of this as an end to the hostilities, also remember that a just end may lead to a just future, rather than renewed conflict within the generation."

Quoteim over it for one either im going to enter the war (ill flip a coin to decide which side ill be on) or im going to take a break and someone can mail me when its time for the H1 1909 report.

Speaking out of character, I think you might face some out-of-character backlash if you arbitrarily enter the war strictly out of boredom.  A number of us have been on the sidelines much longer than you have, and we've managed not to make impulsive decisions thus far.

If you do decide you have to enter the war, at least do us the courtesy of providing a in-game reason for it.

In-character:

Eduard Torres does not react, verbally, or physically, to the Swiss comments directed at Von Bulow.  He does dispatch an aide to wish the Count good hunting and express Gran Colombian hopes that his nerves will be soothed in a day or two.

Agreed I have grand plans for world conquest myself and the like, just not right now.  So I have had to sit on the side lines while this war has delayed the game.  If nothing else I have had fun dealing with both sides and my own bit diplomacy.

Look at it this way the war has devastated both sides so you can play the role of vulture of you wish. Just be aware of the situation your diving into and yes please provide some time of reason for the sudden 180 on Italian stance.  I can for example declare war on Holland and it would shock no one at this point because there is lots of back ground for it.  Also I could declare war on NS and come up with some fairly reasonable explanations as to why.

I would point out that the purpose of this talk is to reduce the scale of the war if not end it.  Expanding the war at a peace conference is a little counter productive.

Do you want this to happen for the third time?
Can you afford to have this happen the third?
To have one more inimical navy in the Pacific?

Hey I'm actually negotiating, just waiting for the German response. But considering the forces already arrayed against me one more enemy wouldn't do much.

OOC...
QuoteSaipan can hold for at least a year
That's not what I read. I would think that with the number of shells raining down on the Swiss troops, it's anything but good for the morale and might even lead to something worse (something that, as far as I can find, is not known yet).
QuoteBut considering the forces already arrayed against me one more enemy wouldn't do much.
Depends where a new enemy would strike and when they hit the correct spot, it will be quite ugly for the Swiss.

Please refresh my memory - how long has the Swiss force been there? I think food will become an issue, sooner or later.
