This fort's being built at Cromwell, using the big 14" guns that Gran Colombia ordered from Russia.  The guns had been intended for the upcoming class of battleship, but the design was changed at the last minute to feature domestic 12" instead.  Meanwhile, these forts, which were to use 12", were upgraded in capability to use the now-surplus 14".  Admiral de Irujo probably lost a lot of hair as a result of it all.

As with the El Toro type forts built earlier in the decade, there are a large number of lighter guns intended to ward off smaller craft such as those seeking to land troops or make torpedo attacks on the harbour.

It'll take a year to build this fort, after which a similar installation wil be commenced at Cartagena.  It's $6.89 and 1.803 BP for the actual equipment and as much again for the actual installation of it all.

Installation cost should be $1.803 - the same as the BP cost.

Below 40 degrees, there is no law. Below 50 degrees, there is no God. sailor's maxim on weather in the Southern seas

The Rock Doctor

Oh.  Well, I won't complain about that.

P3D

And, I think you should have already paid the $6 cost for the guns.

I've paid for the guns, but not the lesser weapons or the turrets for the 14".  Guess I will have some thinking to do on the precise cost left to pay.
