Title: Its been too long
Post by: Darman on May 10, 2020, 07:23:19 PM
Its been too long since I last seriously delved into SpringSharp and designing ships.  I was hoping to build a 1912 version of Moltke-class battlecruiser (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moltke-class_battlecruiser).  And I cannot figure out how to sim the turret arrangement.  Sides- distributed, with just 2 turrets and presume they aren't placed adjacent to one another?  Or get super specific, with one forward deck aft and one aft deck forward (both sides), but it won't allow me to select that they dont end up on the same side of the ship.  Or am I just massively overthinking this and using this as an excuse to be done simming warships for the night?

I expect folks do it different ways.
I've two approaches
A) 3 turrets For<Aft,  2 turrets "side ends"
B) Gun 1, 3 turrets, Gun 2, 2 turrets with one Foredeck aft side, the other aft deck forward side.

The En-echelon arrangement stops being practical after twin 12", but I like the look.

..and with that, I'm out of time.
later.
