152mm is a strange caliber for a naval gun. Are you buying them from the Russians?  8)

My! 7500 tons is a light cruiser now...

I think the combination of 6" and 120mm guns is redundant and will result in FC difficulties. Better would be either a smaller ship without the 120mm's, or a ship with say 10 or 12 6".

I can see including a few (maybe up to 4) sub-caliber guns on a ship meant for commerce raiding for dispatching smaller game without wasting 6" ammunition. This would be more like 75mm - 105mm guns though. These you wouldn't use with centralized FC.

Also: the BC is maybe a little low for such a large ship.

This class is made for scouting  the battleline & ...repulse DDs too.
120mm QF twin mounts are welcome for that job.

6" is just fine for repulsing DDs, especially if you have more of them. 152mm and 120mm are actually pretty close in capability in that regard, so I really don't think you need both. It seems like a very retrograde design decision for a ship built in the 20's to me.

IMO, lighter guns like 4" or 3" are now too small for engage 1500t DDs & heavier in a few years.

T2x150 is too heavy, M2x120 QF is adequate to engage DDs, mobility rate of fire, range &... damages.

Real History is the referent but not the absolute rule.

The last SS remove completly all 4T2x120mm & 2T2x152 are add. The cruiser is now with 6T2x152mm
- 3 fore & 3 aft (ala Mogami)
2 fire control systems (round mast light top blockaus) as usualy installed on ACs & BBs Peruvian ships.
- The other guns are 4 mounts with 2x40mm AA

Drawing to come with new NUS flag on the funnels...

Very pretty ships Jef! I'd say the only things I'd change are to use mount & hoist instead of turret & barbette for the 15cm, this would allow you to use the 100t Cruiser FC instead of the 250t BB FC (which is required w/ T&B mounts IIRC) and cut the 20mm armor off the 12.7mm Mgs. I maybe would consider upping the 15cm mounts armor to something like 50/25/60 since you don't have an upper belt having only 20mm of armor on the handling rooms could be bad. Once down to the magazine you'd be behind the 80mm belt, but the shell handling room and whatnot will be just below the deck and have no side protection other than the 'hoist/barbette' armor. My 2cents.

Now this ship I like
Small fast with adequate armor.
I have no Idea what will it be good for but I like it.

You need more light cruisers, not armoured cruisers.....just saying.

Well it's similar in layout to the Bavarian AC I posted a bit ago, but on a lower displacement.
I was a little concerned on the beam, but considering Invincible had 12" guns in that arrangement, not 10.75", the 5 ft. less beam seems reasonable.  Armor is good vs 8-9" guns at reasonable ranges.

I would think that the NUS, with the S. Atlantic as a field of operations, may find sea keeping of more import and worth "spending" on a larger ship to obtain.

Quote...You need more light cruisers, not armoured cruisers...

I need modern ACs & CLs...
They are going to be built nearly in the same period.

After studying many SS with 234 & 275 guns, this one is the well balanced.
With  nearly 14000t, 170m hull, 4T2x275, correct protection & good sea boat @28kts - 29kts is the top speed.

The Raider Cruisers Amazonas & Tarapaca are now obsolete , poor armament, low speed, light armor... but they are just 10yo.

NUS Admiralty is studying the possiblity to rebuilt these cruisers.

1st project: Squadron DDs Leader
Change armament to 4T2x120 - 12x533TT - 30kts.

2nd project: Seaplane Carrier
Reduce armament to 1T2x120 & 2 seaplanes after the 3rd funnel -29.8kts.

3rd project: Light Carrier
Made the rebuilt a few years later, to have the technos,  with a complete deck for 10 Aircrafts - 28.9kts.

The cost is about 2BPs & 2.2$.

Here are 2 studies rebuilts.

With the engines of the cruisers Amazonas & Tarapaca
1909-1910 techno 54190shp in all - modified to burn oil, Callao shipyards could laid down in 1921H2 ;1 AC in surplus of the program

The speed is just enough to work with the classic 27kts NUS cruisers.
Protection is correct vs 9"2 shells
The main artillery with 300kg shell is good vs 7" armor, classic on AC -
but reduce to 6 guns due to the limited performance made by the 1909 engines.
Note: "Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform"
to maintain high speed in heavy sea.

Start mid 1919, in Callao Shipyards 2 x 6" cruisers - Cuntisuyu & Collasuyu

Note that NUS Admiralty choose, with the armament disposition, the possibility to engage 3 DDs.
Fore & aft 6" turrets could engage 2 differents targets & the middle 120mm guns had the own directory fire control for a third target.

I don't see the need for 152mm and 120mm guns on the same ship. If they ever engage the same target fire control will be confused. I suspect you could simply ship an additional pair of 152mm guns instead.

This choice was made early but not retain.

The protection of the BBs against torpedo boats charge was considered as a new job for the 6" cruisers by NUS Admiralty, so engage 3 differents targets (4x6" fore + 3x120 middle + 4x6" aft) was add in the concept to the classic 1 vs 1
