Title: Geomancers - stand forth!
Post by: Borys on March 20, 2007, 04:44:16 PM
Ahoj!
is it possible for the inventors of Chuvosa - the South Atlantic Archipelago and Gondwana - the mid-Indian Ocean archipelago - to make a map of these islands, showing who has what?
For example - I suspect the BL to have a piece of waterfront in the South Atlantic, and most of it SEEMS to be Dutch, but I am not sure.

As these Island groupings seem to have comlicated sovereignity a map would be GREATLY appreciated.
:D

I would really like to find info about theese islands.
Is there any people there, any recourses?

And as much of them seems to belong to me, do i have any bases there? (and did that feel strange writing)

I don't think you'd see an indigenous population in the South Atlantic islands, as places like St. Helena didn't have them historically.  Probably just a few outposts with a few hundred to couple thousand people each, set up by the nations now using them as stop-overs.

Ahoj!
I agree on the lack of any aboriginals.
Now - depending on user fancy, a White or Mulatto or Negro population.

Yay!
Now to identify which piece belongs to whom:
- bottom left - Iberian - Bom Leite
- bottom centre - Italian - Nuovo Lipari
- bottom right - Oranje - the largest island is called Gulden
- top left - Baltikum - Ventosa and Saco
- top centre and right - Nederlanden - Flyssen group - Bruma, Neblosa, Plana

The islands are volcanic, heavily eroded. Like the Azores. It rains here a lot.
Tourist highlights:
- the Saco is a gigantic caldera and offers one of the best secluded harbours in the world. The problem is the deep and rocky bottom - anchorages are few, and many ships lose their anchors;
- Plana is the oldest island and has been eroded almost flat. It has a Danish or Dutch feel to it - not higher than 30 meters above sea level, with neat little villages and clean cows, it can feed the rest of the archipelago;

I copied the chunk of the Atlantic we needed from Expedia into Paint, cut and pasted some minor islands from the Canadian Arctic (also from Expedia) on to it, then re-contoured the bathymetry around it.
