It has become necessary that we build more suport ships as such i give you Jupiter Coalier of the Navy of Italia

16 pix=10 foot (scale is almost exact)
Juipter, Italia Coalier laid down 1909
Displacement:
7,733 t light; 7,968 t standard; 11,791 t normal; 14,849 t full load
Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
393.22 ft / 380.00 ft x 54.30 ft x 25.00 ft (normal load)
119.85 m / 115.82 m x 16.55 m x 7.62 m
Machinery:
Coal fired boilers, complex reciprocating steam engines,
Direct drive, 2 shafts, 16,012 ihp / 11,945 Kw = 19.00 kts
Range 30,201nm at 10.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 6,881 tons (100% coal)
Complement:
565 - 735
Cost:
£0.443 million / $1.772 million
Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
Armament: 0 tons, 0.0 %
Machinery: 1,232 tons, 10.4 %
Hull, fittings & equipment: 2,501 tons, 21.2 %
Fuel, ammunition & stores: 4,058 tons, 34.4 %
Miscellaneous weights: 4,000 tons, 33.9 %
Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
16,541 lbs / 7,503 Kg = 153.2 x 6 " / 152 mm shells or 2.1 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.10
Metacentric height 2.4 ft / 0.7 m
Roll period: 14.8 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 42 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.00
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.68
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck
Block coefficient: 0.800
Length to Beam Ratio: 7.00 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 19.49 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 54 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 21
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 7.96 degrees
Stern overhang: 10.00 ft / 3.05 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 23.00 ft / 7.01 m
- Forecastle (20 %): 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
- Mid (50 %): 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
- Quarterdeck (15 %): 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
- Stern: 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
- Average freeboard: 21.16 ft / 6.45 m
Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 71.6 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 127.7 %
Waterplane Area: 18,032 Square feet or 1,675 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 182 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 81 lbs/sq ft or 394 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0.95
- Longitudinal: 3.09
- Overall: 1.07
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is excellent
Room for accommodation and workspaces is excellent
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, rides out heavy weather easily
her actual coal tonage is 881 giving her a range of 6600 miles the same as the active fleet. The rest all 6000 tons weight is for fuel coal for other comands.
Is the 4,000 t of miscellaneous weight more coal, then?
more coal and more other stuff like spare parts, its more of a tender than a coalier i supose but i liked the sound of Coalier better.
