Other than the armament, I like her.  I don't see the virtues of mixing 6" and 8", though, especially, if she's going to be out in the North Atlantic with all that crappy weather.  Can you replace the six-inchers with a third 8" turret instead?

I quite like her. :)
But I agree with rocky to some extent, I question the worth of the 15cm guns on her, just 4 guns per side is note really quite enogh imo. But I think she would be top-notch with 12 12cm guns instead, they got enough range and power to be of use against enemy light cruisers, a rof high enough to be good against enemy DDs, and a weight low enough so that you can get 50% more of them then you could get 15cm guns. :)

Korpen wants the 6" replaced with more 4.7", and I want them replaced with two 8".  Borys can't win!

Ahoj!
This is something I ran out when foolling around with the 1899 County class. To see if I could suggest somethign useful to Ledper.

The sweet side of 6 inchers versus 8 inchers is double or triple the ROF.

I still am not convinced about the utility of "hail of fire" of 60 lbs shells from 4,7-5 inch weapons. I prefer 100lbs shells, with their not much lower ROF.

I suppose the 3 inchers can be dumped, maybe leaving only two.

Tweaking the design a bit, 2 or 4 extra 6 inchers should be possible. ATM the guns are in weather deck casemattes. The extras could be added on an upper deck, in open mounts.

If somebody would prefer it this way, the twin 8 inchers with their 250lbs shells could be swapped for a single 10 incher, a 500 pounder.

ADDED LATER:
:)
Borys is headstrong and will plop more 6 inchers on her :D

Well, the main problem Ihad with the 15cm guns was that there were too few of them, if you give her a broadside of at least six 15cm guns I think they will work out nicely.

Ahoj!
For this class, intended to operate out of Reykiavik or Thorhavn, encountering anything smaller than a cruiser (2500/3000 tonnes and larger) is unlikely. Thus not so many smaller guns. This time I went for my fantasy modified County class.

I took this class to its logical conlusion - the first batch (Monmouth) had 6 inch twins at the ends, the 2nd batch had the end turrets replaced with single  7,5 inchers. Such single turrets also replaced the front two-storey 6 inch casemattes. So here I repalced the aft storied casemattes too.
The line drawings will explain everything.

Happy that you like it.
Check existing Baltikum designs for 7,5 inch gun. If none - devlope the gun or buy license from me :)

For giggles:  an alternative, I suppose, to the colonial cruiser I posted a little while back.  I'd want to sketch it out to be sure it all fits - but if it does, the notion of getting this into a class one slip/drydock is appealing for logistical reasons.

Rock - IMO a bit too lightly armoured, and the seakeeping is nothing exceptional.

But she got a nice high freeboard, so she should work pretty well in high seas.

It's the lowered quarteredeck which is the problem.

It's just a foot lower than the quarterdeck on the Hapsburger design.

Handy, so long as you don't need to push around the various 8" armed cruisers poking around the Atlantic.  I like that she can fit into a Type 1 dock.

Not sure I'd want that much seakeeping - even in the Atlantic - but to each their own.
