The Westmoreland class belted cruiser is an improvement on the Puerta Espana II design laid down in 1905.  Superficially, the design has one less main gun, and two additional quick-firing weapons.  On the other hand, the armor protection is improved and, more importantly, the ship is five knots faster, courtesy of a major step forward in GC turbine design (which is to say, getting to engine year 1909).

The class is expected to work with the Armada's armored cruisers, using their speed to shadow and harass heavier units or their armament and armor to preven torpedo attacks against the armored cruisers.

The name of the lead unit, and probably one other, will come from Jamaican parishes; other units will be named for administrative districts in the Heartland.

Nitpicking about the drawing.
While lowering the base of the TTs a bit below the deck looks great on the drawing, it produces a big hole on the weather deck, compromising hull strength. While the deck can be strengthened around, I think the designers would rather opt for a flat weather deack with as few holes as possible.

Ahoj!
Nice. I am a fan of the 5,5" calibre.

I'll have a look at alternate options for the torpedos, then.

Always good to have the Borys Seal of Approval.

Just bolt the TTs on the deck ,everyone did that.

Ithekro

That would probably block his guns cross dack fire.

P3D

In that case he should put the TTs below the weather deck or just raise the guns

How about this, then?  No cross deck guns, but I can't for the life of me find a torpedo arrangement that would work better than what I'd drawn.  So here's a different take on the design.
