Description: Drednoughts original Main Turret layout was unworkable(the two turrets forward should have both been raised mounts on a shorter forecastle- using Borys and P3Ds pointers I redesigned the Main turret Layout as suggested- Centerline Ends changed to Centerline Distributed + One turret centerline end-superfiring). Redesigned closer to Earls original dimensions. I had to alter a few other items to get to 1.00 Strength (Namely lower range, smaller forecastle, fewer light guns and much less AA, Lighter armor-Upper Belt and turret sides,Changed % of lengths).

Description: Since the large rebuilds had failed to pass muster with the Admiralty and Parliament, Designers brought out the 4th member of the Drednought Class which had been designed as a heavily armored lead and FlagShip. Fighting at the head of the Line it was expected that Monarch would draw far more than her share of enemy fire. To this end her armor was increased accordingly, all the extra weight required a entirely new hull by the end of the study.

Armor level was based on the heaviest of local contemporaries, CSA's 1905 Virginia with her 15" Belt and 3.5" Deck.

Years had passed without the budget allowance for this superior vessel, finally the new Parliment had allowed the Admiralty a larger budget. What to do with the sudden increase of funds led to chaos at first until finally one by one various options where discarded, with the last change the only plan left was the Monarch.

The plans have been modified since her initial construction began. Chiefly the discarding of the Torpedo Bulge(as she could not fit in the construction Slip) reduction of the BC(from .70) and the reduction of the Upper level deck and its Belt which ran the entire length of the Vessel. Producing a very sturdy ship. Paid 10% ship cost to account for this($2.28).

History: The ships have been much delayed in construction and came to the edge of being scrapped or sold. Halted at 20% total completion (much of the lower hull had been completed, a few of the guns ordered, and some of the engines ordered), as steel and resources were diverted to other projects. The plans have been modified (the lower hull completely unchanged) and modernized and will begin construction again shortly.
