If you want something fast you'll have to go big and civ. This is what the Swiss Merchants are building. She is totally civilian and hence can use more advanced engines.

Considering she is a liner, she needs to be steadier than that ;D

Desertfox

The problem is that SS2 puts all the misc weight high up, and on a ships like this one with 10,000 tons of it, it has a serious effect on their stability.

Well considering your historical contemporaties would be Lusitania and Olympic 29 knots may be excessive.  What run are they going to do anyway?  Immigration from Asia to the Americas doesn't seem to be happening all that much (and I doubt the Chinese will board a Swiss ship to go to the French Canal Zone).  I could be wrong on immigration since it probably hasn't been addressed.  Possible immigration from Brandenburg to Africa route, and maybe some sort of Asia/Brandenburg route to South America?
(Passanger service between Rohan and New Switzerland, but I don't see much immigration happening there, unless Swiss are moving to Rohan or New Beleriand...maybe the Japanese are moving people from the former Eastern Kingdom back to Japan?)

Thats why I gave up simming liners, and plucked for historical ships.

Desertfox

She is to be a United States to the Queen Marys.

Lusitania was capable of 26.7kts. NS in the best Swiss tradition has to be faster. She is also smaller than Lusitania and Olympic.
