Ahoj!
We seem to have misunderstood one another on the Sao Luis issue. Sorry if I had been vague or potentially misleading.

On Bavaria - stranger shaped countries exist or existed. For some reason, after the exiling of the Hohenzollerns, the Thuringian Principalities, Kingdom of Saxony and the Province of Silesia became Bavarian dependencies. I see it as quite desirable - it kept Austria from neighboring on the Baltic League, and prevented Russia of squeezing itself even further West. So maybe there was Austrian diplomacy behind it? If yes, the Ballplatz stupidly forgot about the Silesian coalfield - to the Wittelsbach's gain <grits teeth>

Some nitpicking.

The Mughals should be the NW Indian state, including areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Persia should get Baluchistan and SW Afghanistan.

So basically fill in the remaining white in India with the Mughal Empire?

P3D

Yes. The grey area in the Deccan should be named Vijanagar or after some other kingdom.

What of having that southern kingdom/empire connected to the Indian Ocean Islands (including that large one I removed from the last map)?  Or will that complicate things for a new player?

This?

P3D

They should keep one or two islands at least.

How is this?  The white islands are unclaimed-Deccan or something.

P3D

Keep only the small islands, and assume some of them belongs to the Deccan thingy.

Okay, just deleted the large island from earlier.

I'm still hoping to get some feedback on the Ottoman colonies...that is a big question mark at this time.

I see i still got scapa and the Orkney Island, and i presume the Shetlands, but i would like to have the Hebrides as well. In fact i would like to retain most of the territories that in the middle ages belonged to the lords of the isles as well as the highlands. The easiest way to explain that is to say that it simply never became a part of Scotland as we know it today, but rather keeps strong links across the north see and with Scandinavia, and
Also the area is very sparsely populated and without any real natural recourse (apart from whisky), so i could imagine that England simply never have been bothered to try and occupy the area. That the are would have belonged to Norway/Denmark until the 17th centaury and that seeded to the Netherlands in one of the many wars in the Baltic (the Dutch were very much involved in those conflicts, as most of the Baltic trade went on ducht keels).

From a pure game point of view i do not think its make much sense to have a base in scapa without and territory close by to cover, and the Hebrides and highlands make the base make more sense, without having a major impact strategically or economically (it is after all still the poorest area of Scotland), so it makes thins more interesting without having any negative effects.

Kingdom of Madagascar should be coloured (historically wasn't colonised until 1897, no way DKB would have let the Frogs move on on their turf...the Enlightened East Germans would likely have some sort of mutual assistance pact).

The Reich, BTW, would be Lutheran - note many Austrian references to 'Heretical Hohenzollerns'.  ;D

Ottoman Abyssinia is feasible (conquest) but I think that Australian bit should be Dutch (Tasmania?) or if Earl can find the fleet Norman (Dampier's Land?).

Oh - *points at southernmost white island in Super-Maldives* - me want. ;)

Okay, so maybe a yellow-white Madagascar as a protectorate (you gain nothing yourself I imagine), and that remaining large Maldives island in the south yellow, the northeast large island and the other eastern islands remain Deccan(?).

Dutch Australian territory again?

Muslims at the gates (or lakes) in Aussie-land.  I have part of the Maldives colored for Ottoman and Egypt to allow ships to make it to Australia at this time.  Egypt from the old sims early days...pre-Thrawn.

Now is Egypt still the old "Caliphate of Cairo" or has it converted to some form of Christianity (Coptic)?

Slighly expanded Dutch territory in Scotland?  What say the Lord of Normans?

Have we settled on the actaul land masses?   Will this be our Earth?

Political borders come next.

I do not want any territory there...

I'd say Madagascar sits the fence happily, as the all countries of the DKB-France-Orange trio doenot want  the other two get too much influence over them. They might even managed  to get some local heavy industry up working from different investors.
