Some of the maps I made for a Wesworld discussion on Wesworld ver 2.0. Just something to start discussions.









A crazy idea I had of having small (dimension wise) city states all around a single island filled ocean. It would be easy to add new countries due to their small size, but conflict rates would go thru the roof!

I made some sketches about world woth more balanced powers. This involved chopping up monstre countries, like China and Russia. This was for a completely new world, with IRL geography.

As a possible alternative, I came across a map on Wikipedia once of Europe in 1328 and was rather intrigued...  8)

The placement is not correct, and the world is a bit chopped up as I use a map I did to show to van Owen what Navalism would look like if all old counties "dropped from the world".  I used it because it has space open to use.  I figure a pixel is equal to about 35 miles square...roughly.  So this is about what Middle Earth would look like on a Earth scaled planet with our existing countries.

Slightly more refined based on the other site's more bloken world mixed with the Atlas data.  The dotted line is a rough palcement for Old Beleriand.  Again this is not placed correctly on the planet at the broken part of the African-like continent would be just above the equator.

And very, very roughly placed Middle Earth in the Pacific using a non-enlarged Earth...a little crowded.  Might want a x1.5 to x2 sized planet for this idea.



Desertfox?  Do you have your Pacific-centric Navalism map still?  Could you cut and paste Middle Earth into that at roughly the same latitude I have it in?  Might see how it fits better that way.

What about having only the Middle Earth main continent put on the map? Swapping it with a North-South mirror image jist to confuse everyone...

Seriously out of place again, but with a theoretical palcement of "Rohan" based on Third and Early Fourth Age maps of Gondor.  The "California" is Umbar, while the "Haven of the Peoples" in part of Haradwaith.  These are rough as I didn't really want the Haven to be exposed to the sea (I couldn't it was Utah).  I also don't know where New Beleriand would be exactly.  I figure on one of the other continents, likely the southern one that  can face East and to the West towards the broken Africa like continent.  Though using this map their becomes a question as to why and where would they be building a canal?  Now if New Beleriand remains in Central America, that might make sense, but the distances involved have become much greater when moving from Rohan to New Beleriand...though they would anyway we try this.

 Not that I'm complaining or anything, but where the heck is the Hapsburg Empire on ANY of these maps?

An idea... the normal world map is 600px wide, this is 780px so you can work out Earth size=?? from that...

Oh, God, the Ottoman middle east is an island now? MORE coastline for me to protect?!  :o
