Actually I consider their loadout to be lesser than that stated by the Norman designer.
The whole lot of ships was ordered to carry a combat load consisting of a Foreign Volunteer Legion Brigade - 8 Rifle Battalions and two Artillery Battalions, plus all assorted HQ, horses, Supply Columns, etc.

The ships differ from civilian counterparts in:
- wider passageways, to allow for speedy transfer of men in military kit;
- more lower hull openings, for quicker access to boats;
- more boats;
- no 1st class, very small 2nd class;
- as the ship might be fired upon, it has very little wood used in finishing;
- being fired upon, runing into a mine or being torpedod are all taken into consideration, with improved compartmentisation, bulkheads without below waterline passages, etc. - this is represented in SS with TBS;
- the mighty 4x100 guns ... with hindsight I should had made these 6 inchers ...
