Accepting the fact that oil firing is the future, these ships are the first large combatants fitted with 100% oil firing.
By not increasing speed or armament , more space was freed to modernise the weapon lay out and gain room for modern seawarefare tools.


The adaptation of the twin torpedo mounts from Italia, the diminishing of tertiary guns, and the relocation of the secundary guns to superfiring, gives this 3th incarnation of the Demarce a more heavy punch. 

The dedication of 50 tons to Crew comfort makes this vessel ready for deployment in every weatherzone on earth, except the artic ice.
35 tons is dedicated to the new torpedo tubes and reloads for  these big weapons.

85 tons is set aside to mount modern seawarefare tools.

I'm over forty, and sometimes forgetfull ... I really must put NEDS into my sig ... :)
Of course, there is not enough space on the centerline for 8 guns, unless you don't mind a single hit demolishing 3 or 4 guns of the various calibres.

16 guns, on a 147 metres long hull (for now overlloking the well ventilated bow area, where to load a broadside shot you fall overboard) - that's one gun per 9 metres - with the 14cm guns being 8 metres long, and the 105mm ones 4,5 - the gunners can barely swing them about, you know ...

Deleting all the 105mm guns of course and making the 14cm guns "on sides - spread" should make the vessel plausible.

Hmm, the "on sides, all raised" 105mm guns are also an interesting feature of the design - such guns need a circle of some 5-6 metres (breech is 2,5m from trunion, the round is c.1m long, plus needs some space to swing it about) to be worked - on a hull which is 15m broad in the widest point and with a Block coefficient of 0,480 ...

ADDED LATER:
OK - you can trunion the gun closer to the breech - but IMO a 3 metres working area behind the gun is still requeried.

The adaptation of the twin torpedo mounts from Italia, the diminishing of tertiary guns, and the relocation of the secundary guns to superfiring, gives this 3th incarnation of the Demarce a more heavy punch. 

The dedication of 50 tons to Crew comfort makes this vessel ready for deployment in every weatherzone on earth, except the artic ice.
35 tons is dedicated to the new torpedo tubes and reloads for  these big weapons.

75 tons is set aside to mount modern seawarefare tools.

But she has most I desire in a ship this size. Pity I couldn't cram her into a 120m length ship.
