March 1st has popped up, making this the first weekend in March.

This would be the logical time to 'ring the bell' and start the next turn.

But..
No one has posted their HY2 1936 turns.

I have finally started posting my 1936 storyline.
The 1936.5 turn is pretty much done.

Overall, I would suggest we postpone HY1, 1937 two weeks until at least 3/15.

Opinions?
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Yeah two weeks is fine with me.

Fine by me.  Also gives you a chance to post up the treaty stuff from your end.

1936.5 posted, including notes about the treaty between Parthia and Azteca.

Don't you love it when technologies and whatnot mean that you can either build outdated designs or wait just 1HY to build a modernized design?

The Sultanate in early 1937 is going to have a light forces revolution.  6 more air points, some new DP/LP, Finishing up the major fortification project of Christchurch to make it a full fleet base with a robust defensive scheme.  And 22 more submarines, replacing all the old 125 and 250 tonners with decent 500t proper subs...plus all the old MTBs are being scrapped for a run of 60 of the MTB-K.

On the MTB-K for the Sultanate, by weight they won't have a 50mm and 77mm gun as I have nothing in that range.  Instead they'll have a twin and a single 40mm AA mount, as that comes to just slightly less than the weight of those two guns, plus 40mm is very good for rapid fire against light craft or submarines and gives them a robust AA capability since aircraft are the major threat to craft like this anyway.  The 4t of misc weight will go to racks for DC or mines.

Story of my life with things like transom sterns, yeah.

I assume my Type K's are shipping a 75mm DP, but agree that a few 40mm are more than enough to ruin the day of anything in the same size category.

I think a 90mm DP is a bit much for a motor torpedo boat......

No actually.
I just finished 1938 artillery.
Do I develop a new gun ..and wait 2 years.
Or do I lay down a new battleship and simply refresh the research on an existing gun...or what?

I noticed the flurry of subs in HY2 1936, wondered if it was full force refresh.
I've started building up a new construction facility at Sohar in Oman as a dedicated sub-construction location. The MTBs are on a long term program of refresh, 1 TB squadron per HY.

All game I've tried to make myself build in a more 'storyline' way.
So, I have all types of ships building at the same time.

Instead of building a large batch of one class at one laydown, I lay down members of the class over several years. Storywise, that should help in training and maintenance.
For a particularly new design, there may be a lead vessel or pair of vessels to 'test the concept'.

I somewhat regret that, as it means I get to build less designs.

Likewise (as I've mentioned) I've long researched extra mount designs, so that what winds up on my ships can be expected to work well.

My subs have typically been built at a couple ports- reflecting expertise.
My territorial docks are usually left empty, or build auxiliaries, as they are repair facilities for the 'frontline'. And I try to leave some docks of each length empty for that purpose.

But...I've been so very tempted to just take a year and build as many of whatever I kinda lack - cruisers/destroyers/subs/carriers, and call it done, rather than building 4 of something over 4 years to get to a target of 16...or whatever.

For me it was a combination of needing to refresh old subs and whatnot, and not wanting to build yet another derivative DD when I can build new faster DDs and cruisers with the new guns in development.    In a storyline way I figured the sultanate would holiday those types with a known new system being in immediate development.

With 4 good fleet carriers in service I'll likely build a second mark of escort carriers, and focus on light cruisers and destroyers for the time being.   Some ships, like the towns, just aren't really suited to being modernized and will likely be scrapped once obsolete.

I will have a bunch of modernization stuff going, but part of the reason I haven't been on some classes is they were on my old computer, so I have to redo the original file before I can work on them.

As for my colonial docks, I use them to build ships that will be operated locally.   So for instance I'm building 20 mtbs in Zealand because they'll be stationed there.

I've got everything from light cruiser down running on a production line schedule.  Although I have started adding a few extras in the last couple years.

Subs are one thing I haven't yet fit into that schedule but I'm getting started there.

TacCovert4

I expect that this run of 70 total 500t subs will be the whole of this type, and I'll start doing a slow replacement cycle of them in the late 40s.  I'm planning on building a steady handful of 1000t subs per year once this new sub tech completes, those will be primarily for Pacific operations and Deep Atlantic operations.  Overall, by 1940 I expect to have a likely 100+ submarines in service.

In 1937H1, Byzantine Shipyards have under construction 4 BC armed with 457 and 4 x 25000t aircraft carriers.

I am considering for 1937, a serie of colonial light destroyers with 2T2x114 that can be built in numbers. Very useful to harass an enemy fleet, while waiting for the Marmara Fleet.

On the one hand I'm glad I'm not a competitor nation with Byzantium.

On the other hand I'm kind of scared about what Rome would be building if snip was active.
