This is for Knight to post in.

This weekend had other tasks for me, so I'm only partway through the update.
But there are several classes Knight can tackle.

Placeholder Classes

For Placeholders, I tend to look at what classes need replacement, or when new technology means a new class should be put down.

The tonnage I set aside is based on my impression of how much you'll need, usually based on several designs I have that I think would fit the need. For example, I can build an Erie-style gunboat for 1800tons, or the 600+1200 option. Since you have many different territories with coastal areas, you
need a fair number of replacements, bigger ships are not advised.

Guns
In 1924-25 a new series of guns using the 1920 naval tech are developed.
They are available starting 1926.0

The actual guns developed are Player's choice, I tried to have a wide range, so whatever
is desired is available. I figured the >200mm would have 20% overweight shells.
The <200mm would retain their easier-handling normal shell weight.

Iberian Placeholders[/b]
Usually tied to new technology or retiring ships

1924.0
Gunboat – A  : 1800 tons,  OR Gunboat A 1200 + Gunboat B 600t   OR 3x Gunboat B 600t

In 1923 the Iberians have 15 extremely old gunboats.
There are 12 different territories with coastlines.
So they refurbish the old and plan some new ones.

This does mean that a number of vessels are needed
for Territorial patrol. A mixture of  shallow draft   able to come inshore and police trade in fishing villages, and of gunboats capable of both supporting enforcement efforts and fighting a raiding destroyer is probably good.

The Dutch gunboats may be reasonable guides,
or the USS Erie class.

The Dutch and English also had some 600t gunboats, the Grino/Gruno and Insect classes.

A 1800 ton ship has been put down as a 'placeholders'.
In practice this could be a 1200 and a 600 , 3x 600, or something else.
They will need to be cruiser construction, 1924 laydown and 0.9+ comp hull strength.

1925.0
Carrier – A : 13,000 tons set aside.
At this time a carrier using the 1922 tech can be built.
"1922: hydraulic catapults; full length decks for wheeled aircraft; arrestor wires. Primitive Anti-Shipping Bombs. Rapid Consecutive Takeoffs limited to single squadrons"

1926.0
Battleship -A, 39,000tons

The Leon Class completes 1925.5
In 1926.0 a new battleship class should be laid down.
I timed a new main gun (400L50 +20% shell wt) to complete at 1925.5 as well,
so 3-Gun and 2-Gun turrets for a new main gun of player choice size are available.
If a Quad is desired, there was time to research a 4-Gun True quad instead of the 3-Gun.

A 39,000 ton battleship takes (39+9=48) 48 months, or 8 half years to build, completing in the end of 1930.

1926.5

Cruiser A  - 8000t , M&H 0.9 comp hull,
Scout Cruiser B  - 3000t, M&H, 0.75 comp hull

Armored Cruiser C - 16000ts ...This would be built to Capital ship standards of 1.0 hull, with 210-310mm guns. If not wanted, it easily becomes 2 "Cruiser-A" in the line up.

the 1920 Cruiser tech completes in 1926.0
"1920:  No restriction (high or low) on caliber of turreted guns. Cruisers under 3000 tons may have composite hull strength > 0.75, Cruisers under 8000 tons may have composite hull strength >0.90
"
Seven New guns from 13mm-155 mm...or player choice <211mm... are available
to make these new 8000, or 6000 or 3000 ton cruisers

At this time a new set 1920 tech guns are also available.
One gun (player choice for size, 240mm on the sheet) is in the 211-310 range for an armored or heavy cruiser type to follow on the Amadis De Gaulas  9000t 8x210 cruisers.

IF the player chooses one, several of the smaller cruisers will be combined into one bigger.

Seven New guns from 13mm-155 mm...or player choice... are availabe
to make these new 8000, or 6000 or 3000 ton cruisers

1927

In 1927 the new Destroyer tech becomes available
"1918: quad TTs, 2000t Type E, F MTB"

in 1927.5 Iberia will finish the 1918 torpedo tech,
which can put on building destroyers as a 'free basic refit'  in 1928.
And refitted to existing destroyers.
What's that mean ?

Well the torpedo chart is like this :
21" (1908 tech): 3 t each
21" (1913 tech): 4 t each
24" (1918 tech): 5 t each

So if you want 24" torps, they weigh 25% more.

But you also have to budget for ASW
Miscellaneous Weight
5t : 1910 "Basic Hydrophone Package" : 3 boom hydrophones, in-hull PGS internal diaphram and omni-directional mounted arrays. A 300ft electrified cable allows the vessel to trawl for stopped subs on the seabed.

15t : 1915 "Enhanced Hydrophone Package" : 3 boom hydrophones, K 3-Tube style through Hull directional array, WV-hull blister directional array., 3 towed arrays. A 300ft electrified cable allows the vessel to trawl for stopped subs on the seabed.

10t : 1920 Early Sonar & keel dome, spares, operators

Anti-Submarine Armament Miscellaneous Weight
These shall be specified under miscellaneous and can be changed with a Basic Refit.

Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest
