Ironically, if the Norse go 'gun destroyer', their failed-ish experiment with the 155mm gun could come back around.  While the 155 is too big for a 1500t DD, on a 2500t DD which is practically cruiser-sized, it's actually not the sort of liability it is on a smaller ship.

Certainly could, it's a player's choice matter.

The historical Zerstorer 36A (had to look it up) had 150mm guns and was ~3700, but they had several problems as far as I know.
One was simply the mounting weight on a sharp hull led to excessive pitching as the bow would bury itself easier. Aka poor seakeeping.
Another was the shells were one piece, and at the upper limit of easy handling. That apparently led to problems handling in heavier seas
and overall a disappointing rate of fire.

I think the real thing to pay attention to is that on the next series...they went back to 128mm.

So...15cm can be fitted, but there are are tradeoffs.  If you expect to be working in heavy seas might not be worth it. If you expect light seas, perhaps.

Now, the Le Fantasque and similar had 138mm, and I haven't ran across anything particularly negative about them- but French warships aren't something I've read up on.
The French also seem to have pushed to have the heaviest gun reasonably workable - before the treaties they had 138.6mm, 164mm, and 194mm and kept improving those designs,
so they must have found them workable.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

The French adopted the 138.6 gun because they believed that the weight  of the shell, 40kg, was the maximum that a man could carry in his arms.
So a man alone could reload a gun.

Ack, I've read that article and didn't recall that !
Thanks Jefgte :)

Edit : There is plenty of room in the Norse research tree for any new gun they wish.
They are not locked into the old ones.

Those developed by Khyrses and Walter are done though.

Was getting started on the Iberians last night,
and identified a need for a territorial gunboat.

So I brought up the Dutch Flores and the Us Erie as examples of seagoing gunboats
that could kill a destroyer.

Then it occurred to me - both have 6" guns and are the size of large destroyers.
Looking at their hulls, one is 7:1 and the other 8:1 length to beam,
and I'm guessing they had a higher Block coefficient than the 1936A.
So they don't have that narrow, lacking buoyancy, bow area that pitches down.
Neither worked in the North Sea, and Flores was noted as an excellent shooter,
so likely was 1.2 or greater seakeeping and 70 stability.

They may also have had hoists- but then again ROF may not have been
a major design consideration for their role.
