While I haven't been aboard a sub, I have been aboard the frigate (sailing type) HMS Unicorn in Dundee. Unlike a sub, you have space to move your elbows around on that ship, but headroom is another matter.
Carthaginian, I think you will enjoy its lower decks with your 6'3". :D

LOL... I've been on a few of the pleasure sailboats at the local tourist traps along the Gulf, headroom is definitely at a premium. And I have a friend that toured the Constitution when she visited Boston. Linds is a 5'6" gymnast, and she said SHE felt claustrophobic in there.
So 'ere's to you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in old Baghdad;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;

Fortunately I had no problems with claustrophobia on the Unicorn. Quite fun actually to move along the carpenters walk that's about 4 feet high. :)

... and to give you an idea...

LOL... 'bear crawling ' through there with some lumber and a tool bag would NOT be my idea of a good day at work, but it'd probably be fun for the tour. ;D

You know, I'd love to see Holland with his hat on move through there. :D

"How did it go Mr. Wys?"

"Most enlightning, now if we could only get those politicians of our backs. What do you have for me Hans?"

"Lets start with America. Rohan, aloof as ever, however still cooperative and friendly, they are willing to build Constellation for us, and are willing to sell us some more ships."

"Thank God for them. Hans if you ever learn anything learn this, never make Rohan angry. We must try to keep them friendly at all costs. How about the Confederates?"

"Friendly too, a fellow republic with their own problems. Our back is secure. If only everyone else was so friendly."

"Is there a chance of an alliance with them?"

"We are still unsure yet, but it is a possibility we are considering."

"Get some of our best people on that. Mesoamerica?"

"Unknown, they are probably still sore at us over the Jamaican fiasco. They seem to like to live dangerously, they are picking on the Confederates now."

"Serves them right if they get crushed. Nearly pulled us into war with Columbia, slimy double dealers. Tell the Confederates that if they need help dealing with those pesky mesoamericans, we are willing to help."

"Will do, now as for Columbia...well they still dont trust us after Jamaica, but they are willing to deal with us. Tech trade, we got thirteen destroyers, free Canal transit rights and some cash."

"Yes I heard about the destroyers."

"Well relations with them are improving, if we only stay out of the Carribean we might be able to get them to lease  Guantanamo Bay to us. I heard it has an excellent harbor and with the opening of the Beleriand Canal we could use it."

"South?"

"A mess, we haven't figured out exacly what happened. The Peruvians a mystery as always, the coast soutward a conglomeration of conflicting claims.The Germans got their fingers in the pie there."

"Not a problem for us, it even helps us, as the Germans will be overextended and have one more sea route to guard. We have no business in South America let them have it. That brings us to...the Germans."

"They are playing at something but I dont know what. Our offer for a Non-Aggresion Pact was refused, they instead offered an unofficial 'Gentlemens' Pact or something like that. They are very cozy with the Austrians and seem intent on getting their noses in everyone's business."

"But their navy is weak right?"

"Yes we can defeat them with half our navy and their navy is split into two widely seperate fleets. They are playing a dangerous game."

"Hmmm, interesting assesment, wonder why they didn't accept the Non-Aggresion Pact would have been to their benefit."

"Back stab?"

"Not likely, we nearly caught them the last time and they must know we are keeping a close eye on them. And if they do try something, it will take a while before they can get help from Europe help which can be stopped or delayed. So that finishes it for the Eastern Pacific?"

"That's it."

"Lets take a break, we'll finish the Western Pacific after that. I'm hungry how about you?"
