Because of the proliferation of MTBs, Byzantium plans to use the T2x102 to counter them from 14000m. The high rate of fire, 12 to 15 per minute is an interesting asset. Installation of 3 turrets is the first possibility on a TGB1000 (coastal & colonies protection).

I also think that if Byzantium goes to war, most of the battles will take place near the coasts (colonies) where coastal torpedo boats proliferate.

I think you need at least a magazine box. But outside that, I'd go with maximum firepower. Something this small isn't gonna survive a long engagement, you have to win quickly.

That or some basic flotilla command facilities.

Either could come at the expense of the hydrophones and depth charges, which I don't think are the most useful fitting on a ship this large.

In fact, with 3000 t & A 0.75, one cannot build a balanced cruiser. Too weak, too little protection. A 5 minute cruiser.

I agree fully. I built 5 of them, the River-class. But they only have magazine boxes of 40mm, they're not cruisers to stand up and fight someone, they're colonial station ships that have enough power to require an opponent to send a more serious cruiser out there against them, because they'll mop the floor with 1-3 DDs

I had the same issues.
The first of my Artesmia IIs are completed, and I really don't like the tradeoffs needed for 0.75 at 3000 either.
I'll finish the first division of 4 and then switch to something else for the role. Either slower and better armored,
or bigger.

ed: only managed a 35mm magazine box on the Artesmias, 12 x 130mm, only 31knots- not quite as fast. .
