Interesting,
while years off from the Parthians knowing details,
they won't be keen on the 46000 ton behemoth.
They've been trying not to exceed 40,000 tons...

The 2000 DD is simply beyond their tech right now,
but the bigger hull gives more options.

The 9000 ton cruiser fits with both the Iberian effort
and the Japanese, and the 8000 ton Royal Neissan,
Seems to be collective concept that something less
than a BC can be used to fight cruisers.

The 25000 AC ... I'm not keen on.
Not sure what role it's supposed to do.
Hunting the Aztec Razees?
Seems a high investment for that.

There are a bunch of potential roles,
it would be a useful ship for,
just wondering if it's a bit hefty for them.

Compared to Parthia's recent AC,
It's ~1/3 larger, and has more guns than my Zemaka, but lighter shells
and less belt armor.

I presume it's meant for long range combat,
and some of that Misc wt is spotting aircraft.

Overall an interesting clutch of ships to consider matching up to.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

snip

Ya, AC-22 is in a little bit of a strange spot. I need something which can gunfight one of the Aztec Razees, but I only have a 235mm and a 340mm gun to use. If Im going to go up to a 340, I'm building another Tullius Leofric, which may as well turn into a 4th Empress Amelia. That cant happen without a lack of other things. At the same time, while I could do a repeat Dux Antony, 8x235 is probly not enough to overwhelm a Razee quickly enough to not take cripling damage in return. In an ideal universe, I'd have an 280-305mm gun of my own and be able to bring heavier shell weight on about the same tonnage.

The OOC intent here by choosing a short ship is that the flying off deck will take up enough of the length to make the jump to "If we just deck over the whole thing maybe we can land them to" something of practical experence.

A slight diversion from the catchup, Rome's first Flattop. I'll have the 1922 Carrier tech done in 1923H2 so can start work on this guy in 1924H1 if things fit. IC the testing with the converted Marathona will have given enough umph to push a cruiser-sized purpose-built ship though. Something to start testing practical ideas with once completed, but actual construction and design experience to see where it lands come the 1926 program if additional carriers are built. The plan is for one.
