Hmm, going back and searching around, it seems early on I was calling DCs armaments, and then I ceased.

I think that was part of the Hydrophone / ASW evolution and then adoption.
At which point I at least thought they had been carved out with an eye to allowing subchaser/asw trawlers as part of that discussion

I seem to have created confusion as a result.

I will try find some time to go back and hunt through things and see if my recollection is right or wrong.

Other are free to correct me as well.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

The Rock Doctor

I'd been treating them as armament.

I'm not sure I've always done the same with mines, though.

I may be mis-remembering on DCs.
Just need some time.

I've always treated mines as weapons.

ok it's my memory screwing up.

I designed the PS-1 Patrol craft just after the ASW rules
and I was certainly counting the ASW DCs as armanent.

Okay, so I'm good there.  Previous mine warfare ships have all been built as "mil spec" rather than auxiliaries.
