See, all of these make me wonder if I shouldn't either resurrect the 6x280mm light battlecruiser designs,  or focus primarily on building smaller 6x240mm cruisers instead of the 9x240mm cruisers I had been working on.

I reckon 27 knots is too slow for a cruiser at that point in time so would look to the 11,000 t version.

TacCovert4

That is the biggest weakness.

Also why my own 6x11in ships are so much bigger than the Byzantine 6 x 10in ships, heck my thoughts on a 6 x 9in ship are STILL bigger by a couple thousand tons.  But then I'm going with a 30-32kt speed band for my new cruisers, in order to keep them from being run down by battleships currently in production.

Watching Aztec, Vilnius & Roman fast battleships SS.
Byzantium calculates fast battleships as well.
2 types have preference.
Fleet BB:
2 x LD 1923 - 35500t - 3T3x381 - B340 - 29kts.

Panzerschiff type BB:
2 x LD 1924 - 21500t - 2T3x343 - B340 - 29kts.

Total: 114 BP  :o
-------------------
Hmmmmm... Parthians are going to study fast BBs.

It adds up pretty quick.  I figure I need a capital ship holiday for a year or two to catch up on some cruiser/destroyer construction.

TacCovert4

I'm curious how you're getting 2T3 343mm and 29kts on a 21,500t hull.  That hull has to be screaming.  Or the belt has to be pretty narrow, maybe deck protection a bit light?  Over about 26kts is where the speed is starting to really cost, and that's pretty light tonnage for that much firepower and speed.

Your right, there was a bullet in the thickness of the deck & the armor height.
Now this Panzerschiff is over 23000t.

Initially, D11 was to be built in 1922.
Replacement of old colonial TGB500 becoming imperative (they will be replaced by TGB800 currently under construction), D11 are delayed to 1924.

Byzantium has recently had T2x140mm/50cal (Hood guns) and T2x152mm/45 (Warspite guns).
SS of the enlarged D11s, equipped with its turrets, is under study.
