The Space Race I really hadn't thought about.
One of the appealing things of the ancient Zoroastrian faith is it apparently valued knowledge.
So science for science's sake seems appropriate.
Which means Parthia might be part of that race.

The Sultanate would probably be a late arrival.  Moderate Islam is fairly knowledge-intense, but we're just starting from a lower point, so we'll probably keep our stuff on the ground well into the 60s
