For the Norse   "Design Thread" aka Battlecruiser/Supply ship/CDS/Destroyer

-all players and guests are welcome to submit a design & comments

-all players that submit a design meeting the specification will receive $1 per 'Design Thread' entered.

-Saturday or Sunday I will evaluate the "winner" for each.
...not sure how.

The winner in each category will receive a further small prize.

As for the other ones - Iberian DD / Minesweepers - I'm posting for Quality control, not entries.
If further Iberian ships are needed, I will post 'Design Threads'.

Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Light Cruiser too ?

"Everyone is fighting for what they miss. "

There is not a thread for cruisers, I was going to continue the Danae series builds.
Likewise I was going to build a large number of the 1500 ton destroyers.

I did see the CL you posted, and worked in those 4.

Here is the tentative build list for 1917-1919.5.
Though it is subject to change when the "winners" tonnage is used instead of the placeholder tonnage
I used for planning purposes. At that point I will likely trim Subs or Destroyers, or even AP/DP.

I scrapped some very old ships, but there are others which are very old and could be scrapped as well.

Tentative Builds :

Finish 15 IC

Start 2 x Ullr Class Battlecruisers

Complete 2 x large CDS
Complete 4 x small CDS.

Start 4x Geilo Class cruisers
Complete 12x Danae class Light Cruiser
(note : The Norse player started 4 of these)

Complete 40x Snekkja class Destroyers
Start 4x Snekkja class Destroyers (total build 48 DD)
(note : The Norse player started 28 of these)

Complete 18 x 1910 Submarines 750t.

Complete 8x Aux-MSW
Start 2x Aux-MSW

Complete 1x Fleet Supply
Start 1x Fleet Supply.

200m/270m on Quebec Drydock.

2 LP, 6 AP, 6 DP, 2 FP

Update :
Norse
So Sunday I will try to post Polls for the various design threads, listing the ships which meet parameters.
I will then ask folks to vote...but not for their own design.

Right now I simply have tonnage reserved in the Norse builds for the vessels, and can always eliminate a DD or sub to 'compensate'

Iberia
Iberia is proving more difficult.
Darman did a lot of work to clean up the position,
but customized the turn sheet in the process, and broke several internal pointers.

I got through 1917.5, and then open office crashed and ate 1917.5... argh.

I will be using the generic minesweeper, and copying a supply ship from the Norse thread.

The Iberian position seems strangely far behind others in ships, but that will pass with time.

The Norse Design Threads are now closed.
The Iberian remain open.

The Poll format is not as flexible as hoped.

So I have started with just the Norse CDS.

I will do the others when I see what problems pop up with the first.

As for 'Participation Trophies'.

Category CDS

Entrants :
TacCovert
Desertfox
Kaiser Kirk
Jefgte
The Rock Doctor

Award : All Entrants get $2 for submitting 1 or more valid designs.

The other categories will be evaluated separately.

Problems?  What could possibly go wrong?

*The Rock Doctor has built in a weak spot at the CDS' exhaust port.  Er, funnel*

Nothing, I'm sure.

Kaiser Kirk

You're not supposed to build those spherical designs anyhow, but fitting in the 24" gun/Torpedo launcher was a neat move.

Thanks!  Needed to work out the kinks on the supercavitating torpedoes somehow.
