The Rock Doctor

It's a pretty handy ship.  I like it.

Kaiser Kirk

I was very confused on how he could manage that on a 300 ton hull.
I missed the '1' in front of the 300.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

The numbers look good but I'm skeptical about a triple 190mm on that hull.

Kaiser Kirk

It's the old 'how to evaluate BC' problem again.
The ship has the same beam, but is 1/3 longer than Vanamoinian
which had 2 T2 254...much heavier mounts

Jefgtes  actually has a larger displacement.
Plus with 2 T3, they can be in "B" and "Y" where the beam is larger
so the hull girder better.

Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

- I am looking for an economical 27kts -125m colonial cruiser.

- I could test 2T2x234.

- I don't like the 4920t, I prefer the 4600t.

- Or built more C7 - 5500t cruiser (?)

at 16m for the TDS, there are only 2m interior bulges on each side.
Depth from side effects how much energy hits the armored holding bulkhead.
A single 30mm holding bulkhead is likely to prove weak at that distance.
There is still value, and it should work against at least light torpedoes.

I have tried several versions of a similar vessel and get similar results.
I need the draft to be 5.5m or less so they can base out of Khasab, and interdict
the straits of Hormuz. I also want them to base in rivers and shallows
at Palembang, Medan, Orinoco, etc.
They will replace the now-scrapped 'Gatekeeper' and 'Keymaster'.

How much speed they need for that role,
and if a torpedo bulkhead is worthwhile, are two questions.
I forsee such ships as being targets for enemy torpedo craft,
which will have the draft needed to attack them.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest
