Just to ask, you're building full up battleships and pocket ones?  I presume this is more of a coastal bb?  Only thing I don't like is half the main armament is in each turret,  and the split means that you don't get the benefits of shallow angle broadside.

Otherwise it looks good.  I had considered this for my own crash bb program after ironclad bay.  But opted Otherwise.  Overall I think this could be a concern for the monarch class if it has a numerical advantage.  One on one I think it's still pretty vulnerable even with its heavy armor.

The Rock Doctor

I feel like I'd trade that end belt for more protection on the quarterdeck, since the steering gear is under there somewhere.

Apart from sacrifices to the protection scheme, it's a pretty sturdy design, and certainly a challenge for anything else in its size range.

TacCovert4

I will say the decks are kind of thin given how long the range is getting.

These are just SS tests to see what is possible to build with T3x381 and T3x343 in 1922.

Pockets can be a second line of battle (tactical) and hit heavy (870kg shells)
Pockets have the advantage of dividing the opponent's fire.
2x18,000t vs 1x36,000t.
The speed allows you to choose the combat distance (immunity).
The striking force is the same: 12x381 = 10440kg
Survivability is the same: 26360kg

I continue my SS.

The Rock Doctor

I like that balance of speed, armament and armor better; it would be annoying to deal with.

Project A, Byzantine Empire BB8 laid down 1922

I would suggest the main battery be 3-Gun, not Triple. There is a ROF increase.
The end belt does not quite reach.

I see some value to retaining the upper belt.
But the armor deck is only 80mm, with no provisions for an upper deck.
So the area protected is not fully protected.

As for Pocket Battleships,
you've already done some, but I wasn't expecting others.
Though your logic makes some sense.
Plus, more units give more flexibility.

The triple guns are again a minor flaw.

Laid down in 1922, they will be launched and start fitting out in 1924,
so that's when I could reasonably "learn" about them.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Displacement:
   18 000 t light; 19 143 t standard; 20 482 t normal; 21 553 t full load

I was curious and checked my files last night.
I've had similar ships slated for builds starting 1913...but keep loosing out.
My version of these types was last updated Oct 7, 21 to a 1920 laydown.
19,000t - so we're close there.
I have 6 x 365L45, and 26 knots to match my Stormbringer class.
Anyhow, if you do lay these down, I will have to dust off and update my designs :)
