Sheep stable

You know those Algerian and Catalonian sheepherders....they get very lonely on long sea voyages

Darman

Also, I was looking at what I had for guns (to answer previous questions about the exact type of guns and mounts available).

Iberia will have a 400mm/45cal triple turret on barbette mount available in 1915/2 (basically when I'm looking to lay down a new battleship class and a new battlecruiser class).  Currently Iberia has access to 350mm/45cal (1910) on a triple turret/barbette mount.

Secondary Armament
155mm/50 QF single deck/hoist and casemate mounts (new 1915/1)
140/45 QF single deck and casemate mounts (1904)
105/50 BL single deck and casemate mounts (1905)
90/50 QF single deck mount (new 1915/1)

The 350mm is only available in triple mounts?
Correct. I could probably research it as a twin and have it be completed by 1915/1.  Which might be preferable.

The Rock Doctor

Yeah, I did the same thing - claimed as my free turret the most expensive and time consuming model I expected to use.  Then developed a cheaper twin after.

Desertfox

Let me know what you prefer, I can modify the designs as you see fit.

Weight of broadside 896 lbs / 407 kg

10 x 140mm breechloaders in deck mounts weighs : 127
10 x 140mm quickfires in deck mounts weights : 145

It's only 18tons and so only 1.8t per gun, but folks (more than just Fox) really need to pick the right choice.
If it's missed until a fight, I'll use what's official, not what was intended.

Designed as a fast, lightly armored scout cruiser by an Parthian immigrant to Iberia. .

The gun layout is Parthian
with 4 guns Fore/aft, and two 2-gun arrays amidships.
This gives 6 guns bearing forward/aft and 6 guns on broadside, but only 4 aft.
75mm guns are superimposed above the 140mm battery, 2 fore/aft, and 3 on each broadside. These serve as a last ditch weapon.

Fitted with a protective deck, 80mm on the slopes, and 30mm on the crown.
All 140mm guns are Mount and Hoists, with armored hoist stalks. They are armored at 50mm on the face & stalk , and 30mm splinter protection in the other directions.

Range is 9100nm at 10knots, sufficient for long cruises of the sealanes.

Misc Weight :
50t - Construction Reserve
25t - LR Radio
21t - Fire Control
24t - Torpedoes  (Type/Number depending on torpedo tech, could be augmented from Construction reserve. )
25t - Extra Pumps

This vessel has enough armor a 150mm shell won't shred the engines through the protective deck,
and the protective deck it can probably reject them at over 10,000m.
Individual mounts feature hoists (as they should*) and armor

Armor can always be lessened to 35mm on the slopes and 20mm on the crown of the protective deck if desired.
Since the hull is crammed full of engines and ammunition, survivability is 4,316 lbs , which is acceptable all and all

*From Ship design guidelines :
Hoists
Protected cruisers should have hoists with the gun mounts, if the appropriate technology has been researched. Destroyers of WWI had no hoists for individual guns.  A cruiser without hoists has a lower sustained rate of fire, and is more vulnerable due to the ammo exposed on the deck.

The same Parthian immigrant to Iberia unfortunately comes down with an illness, and while feverish attempts a large armored cruiser with armor sufficient to thwart a Norse Armored Cruiser, well the older ones. The newest had 250mm guns - like Wilno, the Byzantines, Parthians, and others.

While 195mm was felt adequate against 225mm shells at 10,000m, the armor is 210mm thick.
As a result, the armor is a little thicker than minimal for 225, and the belt is backed by a protective deck.  The belt rises far enough above the protective deck that a shell should not arc over the top and impact the slopes, so the combination is fairly robust and should defeat all known armored cruiser rounds.  Now actual big guns... that's a different story.

Splinter protection is at 40mm to defeat 225mm splinters. The crown of the citadel protective deck is 55mm, which should defeat up to 330mm splinters.

There is a TDS. Behind hull, a 1.5m deep void compartment, followed by a thin divider of mild steel, 9mm wide, which separates the outboard void compartment from the 1.5m internal oil filled comparment, both are backed by a pair of twinned 19mm armor steel plates set back 3m.

Still, at 26,500tons, the Knight of La Mancha is not huge, and it is very fast...and very long.
