Scenario:  On 1 July 1914, a bunch of comets smack into the northern hemisphere.  In six months, everything north of the equator will freeze into a decades long ice-age.  Everything south of the equator will be okay, because transitional boundaries are complicated and this is very simplistic.

So:  If your nation is located in the northern hemisphere:

1)  Where do your evacuate your capital to?

2)  Do you take advantage of the confusion to invade somewhere?

3)  Do you have southern hemisphere territories that you would sell or evacuate?

Note:  No Trans-American canal, remember.

Answers:

1)  The Union's only southern holdings are in South America.  The capital is re-located to OTL Montevideo

2)  The Union folks in OTL Nigeria might be tempted to have a go at one of the Aztec ports in Angola, because it'd be a much shorter evacuation route there than across the South Atlantic.

A quick land grab of NPCs immediately north of Tierra del Fuego might be tempting.

3)  The only other southern hemisphere colony is in the Tierra del Fuego region, which will be remain strategic for a long time.

2) Byzantine Indonesia and Australia as well as Roman Australia. Maybe the Parthian Solomons as well.

Byzantium will fall back on Madagascar which will have very strong economic growth.

The Australian and African colonies and the Sunda Islands would see an influx of refugees.

The Marmara Fleet will be stationed in Diego Suarez. Squadrons will also be stationed in the colonies (Port Darwin, Mtwara ...)

The ships will quickly lose their fighting potential because the colonies do not have the capacity to maintains all these ships.

I think that 10 years or even 12 years later (1924,1926) all the ships will be good for scrap.

The Aztecs move to angola mostly,  though a large chunk of population moves to Zealand.   Ultimately Zealand becomes a separate commonwealth due to the vast distances and similar power to Angola.

1) The Capital of Parthia would move to Zanzibar, the Palace there. Storyline is it's a rightful possession. It's decently located on the Parthian sealanes to maintain communications. Alternate would be Rio de Janerio
2) We'll aggressively expand our current southern colonies. Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Kenya, Palembang, N. New Zealand.
3) We would not sell any southern hemisphere, as we'd be trying to rescue our people by moving them there.
