             WILL BE OF 1500 POUND WEIGHT.

Note that a 30lb. shell has supplanted the previous 25lb. shell in service on new construction for use with the 4" gun.

No other guns are in production for new or reconstructed ships at this time, but these remain in service on ships already in service.
