Australia and New Zealand getting crowded fast... I was eyeing Walvis Bay but its just so so far away.

Is the port symbol in NE Australia misplaced? It should be Brisbane right?

It may be misplaced, though it's the same province as Brisbane.

I was trying to check for natural anchorages that could be used with minimal work.
If there was more than one in a province, I showed one Port Symbol.

So there may be a port that can used without development there, and Brisbane is a better port WITH development...
Or I could have stuck Brisbane 1 bay North.

I don't recall.

Conflict Resolution
As for Japan at Cebu :
They have 2 units, 1 amphibious attack.
They backtrack to Leyte and Samar, which are close enough to be 1 attack, and invade both.

Iberia and Wilno
Last post I saw they were talking.
Now we'll just see if their offers wind up being airmailed, stapled to the nose of large caliber shells.

Deccan Sultanates.
Arriving at Cebu they find the hopes of settlement dashed. Their goal is to protect the merchants at the far end of their trade routes.
They look for a decent harbor nearby.
North Sulawesi is pushing the radius I would normally consider allowing relocating, but they are both subtropical island ports. The goods and training one would need to make one bloom should work at the other, and it's in fuel range.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

More a question for the next 2/13 expansion - can I, or the Confederation of the Five Nations, stage amphibious operations across the Great Lakes?

No.
You would need to build a fleet of lake freighters, or a canal to the lake first.

Didn't think so, but thanks for the clarification.

If they had an IC built on a province bordering the lakes, could they build a lake specific deployment unit?

Great Lakes Gunboats and Destroyers ripping back and forth in the most insane close-quarters fighting on earth.

Not that big a difference to the Black Sea actions in WW I.

Um...

If there was the St. Lawrence Seaway, there would be no need.

But... for this question....
Yeah I think I'd allow that. I will have to think on it more.

Deployment points are not supposed to be tied to a particular transport mode or region,
but logic says the troops, thousands of tons of supplies, and what not can't seamlessly go from ocean to rail to lake.

So the lake - or upper Amazon River, etc. Might be special cases requiring flexibility.

The question was mainly to determine whether the Confederation of Five Nations could leapfrog Lake Erie or if it would need to stick to overland routes to continue expanding west.  I don't personally need or want the capability.

The Rock Doctor

FYI for other players:  Darman and I are working with Kirk to detail some fisticuffs related to our territorial conflicts.  I will hope to post some pre-fisticuff news on this matter in the next day or two.

They will need to expand around the shores.

OOOOH.....fun fun.

Sounds like we will have something interesting.  The Aztecs will look on with great interest.....we do still have a bit of the battle-worship thing hanging around...
