Friday the 1st is the first weekend in November.

I know I'm kinda waiting to get an idea of the IJN designs.

I would be fine with pausing for a month.

But I could also just fall behind folks a little and catch up later.

So what do folks think ?

A) - Start HY1 1935
B) - Wait

Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

I'm updating the Navy classification with the Plan.
I started 1935H1.
I think around 11-11 to post.

Maybe not a month but midway.

I'm fine with mid-way, I've been so IRL busy (work, separation, the usual).....that I haven't had time to really work up a definitive Japanese plan.  Based on what Foxy has put forward, I'll probably just pull a bit directly from Japanese historical designs as I think their historical cruisers basically match up with the plan.

Ok
I will ask again around the 15th.

While I thought a Guinness-China and a Foxy-Japan would make a nice strategic playground,
I also figured Japan's naval choices would suit what I knew of Foxy's style as well.

Cool...
Ashigara, Chokai & Tone class are coming.

Parthian & Byzantium are already up to the task with their numerous 8000t cruisers.

Parthian => 16 cruisers with 10-12 x 180
Byzantium => 16 cruisers with 12 x 191

I probably should have found a way to build more cruisers...or earlier light armored cruisers.
But if the IJN picture becomes clearer it will effect how many of what I choose to build...and the speeds.
I was rather thinking he might go more Yubaris and Agano - fast and light , with a focus on numbers of ships big enough to survive a couple 6" hits and still launch torpedoes and fight. His last light cruisers were torpedo cruisers.

Reviewing cruisers with Foxy, I have the basic outlines of what he was intending for the interwar period cruisers:

Mini-Mogami, 5x2x6in guns, Similar in all other aspects, size reduced commiserate with the 1/3 reduction in armament.

Mikumas, or something along those lines for a heavier cruiser.

Some DD leaders that would be a scaled-up Yubari to pack a more sizeable torpedo armament.

DD's can probably be considered as pretty congruent with interwar Japanese designs, there are a lot of good ones there.

As far as capital ships go, my intention with the Japanese is to avoid the meme-ship and go with some Amagis pretty much bog-standard, as well as a run of what will roughly be new-built Kongos with a more normalized armor scheme than the historical ones got (due to their refits)......so a marginally thicker deck and belt and no casemate guns.

Carriers will follow the historical, though with more of the smaller Ryujo-type being produced and here in 1935 I think that 1 or 2 of their early fleet types (like Hiryu).

Thanks for the update.
That's not too far off my Pacific Force would have to face before reinforcement by the Expeditionary fleet.
Though the IJN threat is why Brunei is not my main base, but rather Dumai. A Port Arthur/Pearl Harbor attack is very doable at Brunei, not so much at Dumai.
