For the Heavenly Kingdom's 1912 destroyer design, the Chinese improved on previous Parthian designed destroyers through a reduced profile and enhanced torpedo armament. 8 are to be laid down in each half of 1912, resulting in 2 full flotillas or one squadron. Named Xiniu (犀牛) which means "Rhinoceros". Like all Chinese torpedo craft, the name is the name of the class, and individual ships are referred to as "Class Numeral", for instance Rhinoceros Three is "犀牛三".

Grr... I thought I'd fixed that long ago. I updated it above. It cost me 3t of on-deck misc weight.

No worries.  Some might call it a feature for torpedo runs.  Struggle to get in there straight....but when you turn, launch, and withdraw it's a power slide.

Nice little Destroyer design. Little slow for my tastes, but the mixed fire will do that.

For 1911, the Chinese are departing a bit from Parthian designs with a fully indigenously designed DD. This ship incorporates a short forecastle mounting the forward gun, followed by a well deck before the more rearward bridge. The well deck is the home of the forward 2 of 4 50cm torpedoes.

OCC : developing the Nippon-Sino War fleet, China wound up with a bunch of Parthian destroyer designs because Parthia had longer ranged destroyers than most, which met the range requirement for the other side of the China seas. Likewise Parthian and Norse ACs had torpedo nets, which I felt were a required design element (sorry Guinness) in consideration of the success of nets at Port Arthur.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Draft of 3000t small cruiser. This ship has 2 missions: leading destroyer squadrons, and serving as general purpose scout and signal relay cruisers escorting larger ships. I went back and forth on a number of options:

1. 12x11cm
2. 10x11cm with almost a half knot more speed
3. 10x11cm with a full protective deck
4. 2x15cm, 8x11cm
5. 5x15cm (this one)

In the end, two things won out: the increasing number of very large and very heavily armed destroyers, and fire-control. With FC a uniform armament makes more sense. The argument for the 11cm ships was rate of fire and being able to engage multiple targets (using local control).

This is a draft. As has long been my habit, I like to publish the draft then fully work it out including illustrations. In lieu of a full protective deck, it has protection over the magazines and steering gear.

Those 15cm guns worry me slightly, my own 2500t SC is only slightly faster but has twice the range because necessities.  Difference is a broadside of 6 10cm guns vs a broadside of 4 15cm guns.

All in all it's probably a good overall match for my scout cruiser class.  I've got a protected deck that's a bit thicker and full length, and my guns are in fully enclosed mounts with hoists and 7cm face armor.  You've got heavier guns.  So in any combat it'll be a question of whether heavier shells break important things or a lot more shells cause enough cumulative damage.

China 1911 CL Design. This has a uniform 15cm main armament, torpedos, and fire control. Lead ship named Haiyung (海容), which loosely translates as "Ocean Allow".

The armored belt extends the full length. The ship has no armored deck, but has a box over the magazines and protection over the steering gear.
