Iberia :
I think the Iberian settlement should build on what they did.
The strategy was basically a trading post one - hopscotching along, and at the end grabbing the spice islands before I got there.
Basically they have the Netherland's holdings. Having played the Netherlands in Wesworld, the supply line issue is a problem.

If I was Iberia, I think I'd want to grab Something with a decent harbor near the Parthian Senegal holding, I'd add Walvis bay (the little coastal spot 3 N of Parthian S. Africa).
That gives 2 extra refueling points.
The South African area is climatically really decent and comparable to Spain. Expanding there some is reasonable.
Granted, as Parthia I don't really want the Iberians there. But I'm confident I can "win" any conflict there anyhow...so if they want to build me some roads for me to conquer.

Going further east has the problem that - while Iberia and Byzantium are and are expected to be at Peace, Madagascar is in great spot to sever Eastern communications.

That leaves the Americas.  Expanding their current holding 4 south and 2 west gets the lovely harbor of Salvador and the modern province of Bahia - a nice area. It's also only 3400nm from 'home'. The next option would be the coastal plain opposite their Falklands holding or the northern coast of South America. 

Predreadnaughts : I find that humorous, I rather like predreadnaughts.  They fall in the funky/weird category :)  However I find carriers a little boring as their planes are the interesting bit, not the ships.


Time commitments : The current lull in the game is nice for me.  I'm trying to take care of a number of real life backlogged projects.
For the game, I've got a bunch of partly written things I need to convert to something coherent.

Longer term : I plan on participating more and could run the strategic planning of a NPC or two if that's useful.

Alternately, can we all just share maps and sort out possible overlaps in an out-of-character context?
