Hey guys,

First, I'm ok. Earthquakes are quite the thing to be in.

Second, lets get 1911H1 in the books. I see I have info from some of you. I need maps, so please include that. Also, I will not be using any "Well if So-and-So does not do this then I will do that" stuff. Please hand me concrete plans and I will work to resolve conflicts.

Sneak home and pray that you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

The Rock Doctor

Yeah, I heard about the quaking.  How intense was it at your location?

I was at work, so basically downtown Anchorage. The shaking was quite intense.

Welcome back,
Glad to hear you're safe.

Monday or Tuesday night , I'll look at what I've sent and make sure it's good to go.

Right so I looked, and I have previously sent you:
1 - Long winded explanation  causing Mass Confusion
2 - A map you have to download to look at the tiny print that is actually useful.
3 - A (drum roll) timeline !

So, I think I covered the bases. There are no conditional bits.
I didn't specify which ships are going where, when, but I can do that if desired.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Lively stuff.

When we had our...I think it was 5-ish quake...here in 2011, I went to the windows to look outside while my colleagues ran for the stairwells.  I didn't see much out of the ordinary, but we did get sent home for the remainder of the day while the building was inspected.

Anyway, I sent in a map and stuff.

Kaiser Kirk

For Loma Prieta I was on the phone with Los Angeles, and told them "Excuse me, I have to go, we're having an earthquake", and assured them I was on bedrock and would be fine. Then there were a couple offshore 7s at a "triple junction"  in the early 90s near my college. Not so bad where I was. Buddy of mine set up the Natl Guard relief base in one case. Little quakes aren't uncommon. Overall I'm pretty blasé about them now.

Anchorage got hit worse than anyplace I've been .

So how is everybody doing?

The last few weeks have been pretty frantic for me but the holidays should be quiet.  Literally everybody we know has other plans, so socializing will be limited and I'll mainly be trying to keep Mrs. Rock's spirits up a bit.

Kaiser Kirk

I'm doing reasonable.
Finally wrapped some presents, need to send out cards..oh and buy stamps.
Furnace coughed and died this weekend, but the weather's mild. I'll be making an appointment for that later today.

Waiting on Snip's responses before I send in my HY1 1911 budget
Need to get my 1911 OOB sorted out, the expansion means new task squadrons are needed. The newest ships will  remain home based, Africa/Americas will be detailed the early 1900s ships, while the 1890s ships will get the Asian station.

Crazy Christmas stuff. Today started at 4:00 and finished at 17:30... and then trying to get home with all the traffic and of course turn the wrong way and into another traffic jam... hopefully it will become a bit quieter at the end of the week... but the real menace is all the painted and glittered s#!t on the flowers. It all looks hideous and is quite annoying and I have no idea why anyone would buy that stuff.

Will have to look at what to do. I believe I still have a little bit of end of 1910 news to post. Nothing spectacular though.

Kirk's Furnace: "*cough* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHH!"

Coroner: "Looks like it committed suicide." :)

Idem for Byzantine Empire.

I have not started 1911H1 report because I have not made really the choices about the shipyards laid down.
"You French are fighting for money, while we English are fighting for honor!"
"Everyone is fighting for what they miss. "

I didn't have a lot of problem with assigning ship work, but then again I am working up to the next wave of capital ships.

Kaiser Kirk

My 1911 H1 report I've actually done 2 versions. Not sure which one to pull the trigger on.

Jefgte's exploration of reconstruction sent me down that rabbit hole*, with a target date of 1913-14. Which means I would need to cease some research and start working on the artillery I'd need to regun those warships.  In which case I'd have a December 1910 article setting that out.

OR I could wait just a couple years, not redo my schedule, and rebuild them later.
Except 1913-14 is the hole between the Tiamat class and the next Baphumet or Sealord class battleships...or the Enki II  2nd Class BB type A-N... or something else, but darn it I plan on new battleships down the road.

Plus if any of my colonial expansion is nixed/runs into battle, that would change the ships available to refit FC too, expanding that and reducing new construction.

I really need to sort out the new 1911 squadron assignments.

*which I realize is an idiom that may make no sense - refers to Alice in Wonderland's passage to wonderland.

I did some painting this evening. No conflicts, so unless I've borked it this is the 1911H1 map.

Thanks for that.

I think a couple of Iberian properties got painted with Union green.

Walter's approach to territorial gains is interesting and I suppose the rest of us might want to consider the same.

The idea of those encircled areas is that the tribes there are not easily persuaded by the North's charm campaign and thus will require a bit more pushing, force and time in order to be assimilated persuaded to join the Northern Kingdom (actually gives me some extra time to come up with names of those areas :) ).

I would expect that other nations might run into similar opposition if they were to utilize a similar type of campaign. You can't convince them all that you are right and the other nations are wrong (might be why there is lack of movement in Florida by the Romans). Of course no such problems if you immediately use force to convince them.

That one tiny region in the NW of Pennsylvania was marked on my map as being part of the campaign territories. Not sure why it was left white. Should be yellow.
