I think I'll have it for 1917, I'm just going for hull numbers at the moment.

How many Fleet DD did you have  for the moment ?

=> With the same criteria as Byzantium (mini 25kts & 100mm guns)

44 Fleet DDs

Realistically, the 30 K-class and the 16 L-class (once they're all done in 1916).  The other hundred or so boats are all short-legged coastal defence things.

TacCovert4

True.  My speeds are good but not amazing.  At least for the dds.  And I'm specialized more for now as I need the most potent gunfighter dds I can get.  Your route makes perfect sense.

I am definitely going for numbers plus gunfighting potential, so I'm just stuffing 4x5" + gatlings on 800t and less.

An alternative for testing naval aviation:  Take an old armored cruiser, plunk a flying-off platform on the bow, make a temporary navigation platform behind it so the captain can still see what's happening, and put a seaplane where some of the ship's boats would go.  Easy-peasy.  Dragon has the weight reserve to tolerate this.

The Rock Doctor

Sketch of the Lucznik class armored cruiser.  I haven't been able to find locations for half of the 50mm battery, and reckon having them in hull casemates would make more sense than on deck somewhere.  Too late for that, though.

It's a stumpier ship than I had in mind, but I like her look nonetheless.

Excellent.

As previously noted, the M class torpedo-boats are basically modest upgrades of the L class and from a distance look almost identical.  Slightly more efficient machinery allows slight more machinery, there's a bit more ASW hardware, heavier torpedoes, that sort of thing.  It's anticipated that a run of sixteen units will take place between 1917 and 1918.  This would put the Union Navy at 62 torpedo-boats in the 1,000 t range, at which point they may scale up to something larger.

Probably 4x130mm, yeah.  I'm hoping I can pull that off on something less than the full 1,500 t, but we'll see.

TacCovert4

Should be able to.  I have a 5 x 130 design on 1500t.  And I'm more about speed than Vilnius is.

If I can stuff 4x127mm in 750t, I'm sure you will be able to manage on twice that.
