I'll dig out some photos if the Norse decide to develop Nanisivik six decades early.

1) My HY1 conquest of the Andaman/Nicobar and Cocos islands west of Malaysia is still not tinted :) There are only hostile cannibals there and no resources, but it's a nice naval base location.

2) Naval base location is the driver behind grabbing Rio's giant natural harbor. Not only does it control trade routes further south, but it's 1800nm from Ascension island. Ascension and St. Helena make a decent steaming range triangle with Rio and Cape Verde.   The River Platte was actually in my plans as an agriculture resource area as a future step, that way I could answer that classic question "Where's the beef"...but there's this green blight there now.

Personally I find it interesting that there's green blobs on both the canal route and now the tip of South America.

3) Iberia - I did not take the Canaries/Maderia, as I really think that's something the Iberians would seize so no one would set up shop on their coast.
One of the things I look at is steaming range - I'm trying to keep my new holdings in range of my old ones. I'd expect that would apply to Iberia as well.
I would also expect them to expand to the base of the Amazon for Rubber, and down the bulge of Africa to Liberia/Cameroon/Nigeria region- rich in all sorts of resources.

And now...back to the fire - #1 in size for CA state history ....and running North today through the National Forest. There's like 30 miles of open line there, all the way across the Forest, and they're building lines on the other side of the Wilderness, miles to the North.

Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

There are other priorities including adding witches... uhm... I mean respectable citizens of society to the royal family tree so that one will have to wait... but it will be developed eventually. :)

Maybe it is not tinted because all your troops were tricked and ended up in the stew. ;D

Where's the beef? In Scotland of course! Where else.

Angus Beef. The best beef in the world. Voted #1 beef by Iamananguslover Magazine, the Iamananguslover Society, the Iamananguslover Website and the Iamananguslover YouTube Channel. Available at your local Norse Butcher at affordable prices. :D

I figured that while canal-building is a great and noble goal, it won't be finished during the life of the game.  So best to nab some real estate on the route around the Americas in the meantime.

My alternate history Polish place-names are undoubtedly awful, but so be it.

Since it's called Navalism, maybe I should create some new ships for 1911.

He's offering you a deal you will regret. He will build the channel in exchange for your soul. :)

Hey you were happy with that deal when we made it.
Now Rocky, how about I sell you a slice of Walter's soul, just so you have something to play with when yours is in a safe undisclosed location. ?

I'm thinking a move to 1911 would be good to get us going again, unless Guinness is still plugging away.

Yes, this is good. Im about a monthish away from a relocation to Anchorage, Alaska so might be a little delayed on my end. Go ahead and get 1911H1 out, I will catch up.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when solider lads march by
Sneak home and pray that you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

I was planning to finish posting HY2 during this week, so moving to 1911 this weekend works for me.

Anchorage, eh?  What takes you up there?
