French fortifications.

Ligne DeCreme.  A hidiously expensive line of fortresses protecting France from the Spanish.
10 Fortresses with each 1 naval 12" twin turret and several 140mm guns in casemates.
Al linked with trenchlines.

Fortress Greater Napoleon.
The beached hull of the huge battleships Greater Napoleon, cast in 30' of reinforced concrete. Now guarding the new naval port at Saigon.  The 3 main turrets were removed as well part of the engines and boilers.
The boilers not removed are used to provide steam for the turbogenerators.
The 4 305" twin turrets are kept as well the smaller guns, a large tripod mast replaces the original superstructure.

Sedan, the great fortress in France. Now kept as a relic from the past, and not in military use.

The unnamed fortresses being build to oversee the ends of the Great Canal. The expense at the Ligne DeCreme forced the designers to forgo on naval turrets, and the 340mm main guns for each fortress (2 each) are protected by concrete Casemates, not steel turrets.

2 small harbor protection fortresses at Papeté are build during 1910-12.

Nothing more than 2 old protected cruisers, Isly and Descartes in a artificial creek that will be filled with concrete.

The battledigger Pantagruel is the tool to dig those 2 creeks.

Ligne DeCeme.

The string of 10 Fortresses and prepared trenchlines at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. With a pricetag that would mean complete fleets and armies for other countries this fortification line means business.
These forts conclude the latest of defensive  mated with Naval technology. Build between 1900 and 1915 this formidable defense line is an example to the world.
10 fortress corps are  being maintained in reserve status to man this huge fortification.

Fortress Sedan.

A Vauban designed Citadel defeated during the Prussian wars, after the Prussian wars the Fortress was being upgraded, but as war technology advanced, it was left in reserve.  Only the Leipzig Compact made France reactivate the fortress and the corps manning it. The latest additions are the Chemical warfare depot and the blimp base. The resilience of this citadel is being re-evaluated to the biggest French land based artillery. The 155 houwitsers and the prototype 195mm RR based gun.  So far, no tests concerning show the resilience is compremised.

Coastal defence installation Papeté.
The 2 old cruisers Isly and escartes form the core of the 2 gun emplacements. The old hulls are put into thick rebar concrete so these installations enjoy battleship level protection. the underwater tubes are placed so that the some of the old tubes can defend the harbor.

Fortress Suez and Fortress Said

Based upon the experience with Fortress Greater Napoleon, and the 2 smaller coastal defence installations of Papeté, the 2 Russian Kronstadt CBB's will get a simular treatment.
The first steps to this result are being taken care off.
