The Rock Doctor

Had to laugh - was designing a torpedo-boat and couldn't figure out why I had such shit hull strength, even at 22 knots.

Finally remembered I'd been fiddling with a cruiser first, and so had deck and conning tower armor built in...

Does anyone still use the IRC channel?  I'm wondering if its worthwhile to hop in there when I'm home on days off.

I'm not opposed to it, but rarely think to look for it.

QuoteThere you go, kids.  I've got 1/04 up.
Two down and a few more to go.

Torpedo-cruiser? :)

Sometimes I will resim a ship made by another player (both here and in Wesworld) to check it or play around with some ideas or improvements and when I sim it it does not match the sim that the player posted. It is usually minor things like forgetting to mark the transom stern option or not paying attention when it comes to the location of the breaks.

There are also moments where I sim a ship where the source uses metric values and I forget to switch Springsharp from Imperial to Metric.

I always forget to add the ",#Navalism" bit before I log into the Wesworld chat ever since I log in using the link I posted on Wesworld. Now that I have done it, it will be harder to miss it next time so there might be a chance that I will be there in the channel.

I still hop on it every so often although I haven't had the chance to in the past week.

Page 10 of the rules patch discussion I took Logi's : "This is all we have holding us back from 1903/H1, so let's get it out of the way." as seeming to indicate his post was a draft and the revolt % was still being decided.
At that in time, back in early August, I was the GIS lead for maps for the Humboldt Lightning Complex fires, and so very busy. I tried to keep up with posts, but I never saw a final "These are the new rules" post.
If and how colonies revolt, and that homelander %, have a very strong bearing on if I want to bother having colonies at all.

ed : In my defense, if it turns out I misunderstood and the patch is final - I'll also observe that my Quick&Dirty way of popping in and assessing the rules is if the "Rules" category has been updated- and the last change date in that topic is June 15,2014.
The patch is indeed final, but I haven't gotten around to editing into the "Rules" category.

Ahh. OK, silly of me to have waited so long then. I'll take some time post Christmas and look at how it impacts what I was doing.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest

Thought this was dead to be honest.

I'm still here.  Just been busy with work, and after work most nights I'm out on the town for an hour til the bars close, if I'm so lucky as to have an hour....
