Since all my ships will be esentialy repeats untill I make a few (ok ok several) technological breakthroughs (or manage to steal/aquire the techs anyway), I thought I would go ahead and take a look at what my "next generation" Armoured Frigate would look like (previous post was my first atempt at this).  I think this incarnation is far more likley to get built than the previous one, and it is likley to be my last "pre-dreadnaught" style class, as always opinions are welcome (Heck ENCOURAGED).  First ship of the class would be named Nike, combined the 3 sisters would be known as the Spirit Class (I esentialy plan to steal the spirit of Victory from 3 Mythologies for their names)

Note: I have broken down the ihp/shp, as well as listed Range at full power on the VTEs and range at fleet speed in the Machinery section of the report.

I like Jef am planing to add some more or less non combat ships to my fleet (what it's a big world and I have to cover most of it), this is my first atempt at a Tender. basicly intended to travel with the destroyers etc. on forign stations.  Not sure I got it right but *shrugs* if I didnt im sure someone will tell me.

Ok, just so you know this is esentialy the previous Nike class all I did was mess around with the freeboard and move the 6" guns up to deck level (instead of beong below the freeboard), they should fit and over all I think I improved it rather alot.  This is the version I will be laying down as early as possible, as always opinions welcomed (heck even beged for).

I see no obvious issues except that I'm not clear on the 10% oil thing at this point.

Tanthalas

IDK the rules dont say we cant, the oil fire tech specificly says allows bunkers with larger than 10% percent oil, so by that we are golden to use 10% oil at any point.

A late reply but... IIRC the oil fire tech is to allow completely oil based bunkerages. Prior to that you can have up to 10% of the bunker as oil, that is to cover the ships using oil-sprayed coal.

1902/1903 Laydown "next generation" Armoured Frigate.  Given my tech limitations I realised that I wont be able to do mixed propulsion when I wanted to... so I reworked my idea to fit with techs I could actualy have.  Not as fast as the brit ACs (or anyone elses ACs honestly) but capable of taking more of a pounding than any of them this ship would use KC and a newly developed (at the time) 11/45 main gun.  I also included a massive ondeck reserve for use in future developments.

Since KK brought it up, I decided to go ahead and post my secondary monster idea, as the name indicates I didnt build it (or even bring it up previously) because I figured it was in all likleyhood illegal (blatently so I think).  However it would have had a truely impresive battery of 8" guns, and for future use droping a pair of tripple 8" inplace of the 11" twins would have been atleast hypotheticly possible.

Well since everyone is playing around with new ACs I decided to go ahead and post my minor reworking of the Mk2 Admiral class... not sure I will build it basicly the only changes over the original version were to give it an atlantic bow and add one more 6" per side.

Still toying around with Armoured Frigates, since I wont be laying down a new one till 1904.  Opinions definetly welcome, it has grown to 13K tons and honestly I am not sure at this point if the increase in tonage is worth it.

You're toying too much with them, except for where it matters...
